Man that is so wild, I just came back from the North Carolina mountains, on my 2004 R1150 RT TOO! It was unbelievable. Just like your video, the ride was over the top. Keep posting trips.

I road the US 129, aka Tail of the Dragon aka Deals Gap about 7 years ago on my BMW R1150RT... Several times in both directions,. I camped out for two days. I did not hear your foot peg lean feelers drag? Hummm. One of the photo companies got a great shot of me carving a turn twice. The photo shows my boot toe dragging, I push my toe out a little to feel the turn and carving the turn. When all the forces are balanced it is beautiful. The R1150 RT handles well especially with new Michelin Pilots. Still have my BMW but did not ride it last 2 years.... That is going to change.

Yes , you should try HYW 80 to the Parkway , it’s called the Devil’s Whip, goes to the Parkway and from there you can make the loop to the Diamond Back, there in Marion and Little Switzerland. And Lake James can be part of the Loop. I never have drug the pegs in the BMW. And like you I haven’t rode in 3 years or so.

I had the same bike, with the same instrument deck and driving lights. Very nice. Finally switched over to a K1200GT-2. Both are fun.

@@rjohn102 Have you ever ridden NC80 from Pleasant Gardens to the Parkway? It's a much better ride. I just got an R1150RT with very low miles going to ride it up 80 and down 226 this weekend. BTW, I live near Lake James.

I see ;). I've got a R850 RT, I find it great! Does your 1150 make a little "clack" sound at gearchanges, specially downshifting and at low revs?
