Thanks for this interesting post, I think it had more 'life' back then and wasn't covered in signs saying 'don't do this' or 'do that' all over the road systems.
Just been up from Wigan Pier to Top Lock ! Born and raised on Ince Bar !! Nature has reclaimed what was a great place to be a little lad !! But nature finds a way !! Great video !! ❤️
Good Lord, I remember Timothy whites, my mother would complain how everything was so expensive in there (1960’s Clacton) and that song “by the light of the silvery moon” she would sing it while she did her housework..thanks for a much needed trip down memory lane 🌝
It's quite amazing and kinda lame, how often, places that have lots of houses or shops are demolished and either becomes only one shop, or is just left with nothing at all, turning once bustling areas, into places that only see occasional footfall.
I see Wigan is going back to the 1950s today. Then all the way back to the 1850s. But what can you expect when big companies and big government are running the country.
@@user-fh9vh6hr7w their age may show but their eyesight is sharp as a razor blade well spotted on the ford Capri fantastic glimpse into our Wigan past!👍😎
Massive fubar by not developing Billinge hosi site to a sizeable site that would have been on a par with Whiston. Instead its all been crammed onto the RAEI site that you cant get near!

I live in Wigan hasn't it changed so much
Really????
Sam Ensor yes it has, a pity.
Just refining a date - the 1960s Wallgate shot at 0:31 has to be 1969, owing to the presence of the Ford Capri, which was launched in that year.
Your age is showing showing there :)
