It's funny that our video releases are pretty much at the same point on the route! Loved the shots of the flowers N' Tetons. And yeah, the traffic was bad!!
Ryan Van Duzer thank you! We noticed that too! 😂 that’s so funny that we are posting at similar points on the trail! We had no idea that this series would be this long. Thought it would be 3 episodes...apparently we took a lot of footage!
@@thebr0wnhornet 😂 I’m sure that is quite the contrast! We thought it was harder than we thought it would be 😂 Albeit we had nothing to compare it to given the very little biking we’ve done before this 😂
So beautiful!!! Sorry you didn't make your goal, but the adventure is definitely going to be with you and your memories! Grand Teton National Park! So happy you made it to one of the goals. What a stunning route with the lake and the snow cap mountains!! Definitely a dream! You guys are for sure PURSUING those MOUNTAINS! Love the music components. Didn't know that you can see those mountains from so far away!!! Woo all the people stopping for the buffalo. Were they crossing? Seems like they got so close to cars. Is it buffalo or BisON? The drone shots are truly magical too! That uphill is killer, but the downhill looks fun. Those cars are driving so fast! Walking is SAFE and that is okay. OMG! No shower for a week! That is INSANE!!! How do you sleep!?!?! Still confused the difference between what you did and then section biking. OH NO you fell. and then BUG BITES! JIMINY CRICKET!?!?!?!
Haha it’s bison in North America! They wander back and forth between the sides of the roads regardless cars. Bike-touring or bike-packing is biking doing it straight through while carrying everything you need (e.g tent, sleeping bag, food). Section biking is doing parts of it for usually shorter chunks of a time. As you’ll see in the next couple of videos that can look differently depending on time etc. :) thank you for watching and commenting ☺️
I really enjoyed your journey on the GDBMR. There is a bikepacking loop that is supposed to go from Yellowstone to the Tentons. Some parts of what you biked are on this route, including Tenton pass road. Good luck on finishing up the GDBMR.
Looking forward to more of your videos. It’s been over 35 years since I was last at the Teton National Park. I’d forgotten just how gorgeous those mountains are. I always thought for scenery the Tetons have Yellowstone best.
@@PursuingMountains wow that's great. I am from beautiful North East India. Do search about northeast India and I will be glad if you visit us. Please do visit my TH-cam channel.
Bruce Blair aww that is awesome! We loved the great divide! Do you plan to do the full thing? Thank you! We are glad you are enjoying the videos! We have family in SE Idaho so have passed through Pocatello quite a number of times and even took our nephews rock climbing in a park there this summer. Very nice area!
My wife and I have a selfie from that exact spot on the lake with the Tetons in the background. We took it on our Trans America Tandem trip in August or September of 2018.
Aww that is awesome! So many great spots for photos in the Tetons! How was your trans America tandem trip? We’ve thought about biking across the USA someday.
@@PursuingMountains It was pretty awesome until we got to the west coast, then the traffic just got ridiculous. We've not been east of Missouri for the same reason.
@@PursuingMountains We hit the coast about 100 miles from Astoria, Oregon and finished in Astoria. Bad traffic caught up with us somewhere around 100 miles before we hit the coast.
Love your videos and look forward to seeing the section videos. You definitely seem to be hitting your stride in the latter videos. Did it take the full two weeks or something shorter? Curious how quickly you fall into the routine on the section trips compared to the this video segment. I know if I get to ride my of this trail it will have to be in sections. The bad part of doing so is that I feel I will just be getting into the daily routine when it’s time to get off the trail.
Roger VanCleave thank you! We definitely hit our stride in the last two videos! Some good weather and less elevation gain may have had something to do with it 😉 but we did feel less pain though in our bodies after 11 days of riding. I bet if you trained you could get into the rhythm section biking it. We were starting from a very very low fitness for biking having only biked 3-4 times in the last year before we set off on this trip 😬
You missed a really good milkshake place just a little farther south. It’s in the town of alpine Wyoming. It is either the elk cafe or the Yakeeiss cafe. The milkshake are thicker than Dairy Queen’s blizzards. You can hold it upside and they won’t fall out. They use real ice cream. They even offer huckleberry milkshake. If yo can stop there they close at 2 pm
Coming from Idaho on USA HIGHWAY 26. At the first junction across the state border turn right. Cross the bridge and it should be right around there. And if you want to see the Oregon trail you just need to head through the small village an continue onto Grays river road. Mostly gravel and about 17-20 miles later you will be at the trip divide basin which the Oregon trail crosses. One side drains out into the snake and then the Columbia. Another drains out to the Great Basin and finally the last one drains out into the Colorado River. When you get to the road not far out of town there is a sharp bend
zachary weitzman Hi! Thank you for commenting. We used the Salsa Fargo bikes, they are a gravel touring bike. We plan on posting a full gear list video and review in the next few weeks!
You should still do it! Just have bear spray easily accessible on your bike and practice taking it out just in case. All the bears we came across fled from us, they seemed uninterested completely.
Yeah we definitely found that we couldn’t rely on just google maps biking directions. I don’t know why they sometimes take us to the middle of no where 🤷🏻♀️🤷
Please fix the straps of your helmet and put it on straight. That's not a vanity hat, but a safety item. If the straps aren't tighten, you will lose your helmet in the event of a crash and it might actually cause additional injuries. If your helmet doesn't fit comfortably, you should get one that does.
Daniel Hi. Thank you for commenting. We’ve actually had several other people comment that on our other videos. Unfortunately, I didn’t know how important keeping the straps tight were while filming the series. It wasn’t a vanity thing at all just a comfort thing. However, since receiving comments I’ve now corrected it on my rides, but the rest of the series you will unfortunately see that I was wearing it wrong 🙈 as I didn’t know at the time. Thank you for your concern and for reaching out.
