My favorite boss in the entire franchise. His design is so cool and I think the way he crawls into the room is actually really menacing. One of the best boss entrances.
I've heard a lot of comments on how hard this boss is...am I the only one who never had problems with him? There's actually a place in his stage where you can stand and not get sucked into his vacuum...just get there, turn around, and fire when he's facing you. Three shots and he's dead. But then again, Banjo Tooie has got to be the one game I've replayed the most, so...
After hearing for all those years about how difficult this guy is, I didn’t know what to expect. That super long intro just made it more intense as I anticipated what ended up not even being that hard
I remember when I was playing this on the XBox Live Arcade, my little brother was watching me. When Weldar asked if I wanted some "Nuts n Blots," I responded with "Uh... No thank you!" My lil bro understood the joke and snickered. Just to clarify, I actually liked Banjo-Kazooie Nuts n Bolts.
this is the creepiest , but also the funniest boss in the game. i also remember as a child that i thought this only was a vacuum cleaner and not a welding torch
I have played Nuts n' Bolts. It's... well... not THAT bad... but... It's just weird seeing a revolutionary platforming character start to ride around in different vehicles.
+SulkyTelecast If it was a standalone game with different characters and a title change, it would have been alright. Nutz and Bolts was a terrible sequel to Banjo Floor and Rare/Microsoft should be ashamed of themselves.
I LOVE this boss - Not only is it diverse and is it AWESOME, it's also not frustrating.. I love it so much. Probably my favorite boss of the entire Banjo series
As someone who welds, coming back to this and seeing Weldars caption as “Visually Impaired” makes is that much more funny. Never caught on to that as kid lmao
Thoughts on Weldar Yes! I love this boss! Tied for my fav boss from this game with Mr Patch. Again, unique design. Though he looks more like a blowtorch than a welding torch. The battle gets more interesting and challenging as it goes on and the length is perfect. The music's probably my favourite. Its a bit on the easy side, but then again most of the bosses are so... I like how you destroy Weldar, but his head remains, and actually helps you get a Jiggy. Also that noise when Weldar jumps back into the middle. WAHEY!
This guy is not hard at all, not sure why people (wiki included) consider him extremely tough. He only has 3 attacks, and he only use one in each phase.
His dialogue is funny, but he's one of the scariest looking designs I've seen in a children's game. The Snapdragon and Dragunda enemies scared me as a kid too.
0:20 I really admire the friction sparks they threw in there. Really adds to the realism.
"how bout some nuts n bolts?" -weldar, N64 version of banjo tooie
well someone saw the future at rareware
so why didnt he warn us of the fucking garbage they produced :D
ruined the franchise
@@bobbyxan111 it’s not that bad
@@chaosemerald7654 it really is lol microsoft ruined a whole franchise :)

I like to think Weldar's defeat is a foreshadow of what the game's ending brings.
Me too. It's actually pretty funny in hindsight. 😂
Nuts and Bolts?
@@jelloistasty That was more during the battle when he fires out some nuts and bolt not at the end of the battle
"It's a blowtorch _and_ a vacuum cleaner! Be the first on your block to own one!"
Seriously one of the coolest boss fights ever!
They did such a good job with animation, vfx, and sound to show how just gigantic and heavy this thing is

1:33 - That's a line I wanna forget.
This guy is no joke. Weldar's the game's toughest boss, after the Hag-1 of course. A fitting climax to the challenging Grunty Industries.
This game has such impressive graphics for the n64
I must admit (and this weirds me out to this day), as a child I did not know whether i was creeped out by this guy or attracted to him
Not to mention hard, especially when he electrifies the floor.
In just a few lines and a title a boss is given a great personality.
This remix of Grunty Industries is very cool. One of the best songs of Banjo Tooie.
After hearing for all those years about how difficult this guy is, I didn’t know what to expect. That super long intro just made it more intense as I anticipated what ended up not even being that hard
Welder: how about some nuts and bolts. me: now that’s a real threat.

You can hurt weldar with fire eggs you don't have to just use grenade eggs fire eggs work too
this is the creepiest , but also the funniest boss in the game. i also remember as a child that i thought this only was a vacuum cleaner and not a welding torch
This was easily the hardest boss for me at the time
Gruntilda in this game is actually even harder if you fight her without the use of cheats. She becomes even more difficult in replay mode.
Ahem. I believe it states quite clearly in the workers guideline that bears are not be let into the building.
So?
Well your a bear aren't you?
+Jacob Powell Er... no.
+Daniel Thomas oohs. I must remember to wear my glasses.
+Daniel Thomas well I'm out now so I might as well go to work on you.
MY girlfriend watched me play this the other night and realized something I never realized in 20 years...
Banjo just GASLIGHTED the GASLIGHT
omg
Weldar would fit pretty well in the Cuphead games. ☕️
rather frustrating boss as i remember
This guy really is one of the better fights in the game. It's a shame that you have to play through Grunty Industries to get to him, though.
I really like Weldar's boss theme, it's pretty epic
Weldar was just playing, banjo and kazooie are the REAL villains.
That arena music tho reminds me so much of DK 64
1:35 Nuts 'n' Bolts... ._.
1:33 Banjo-Kazooie Nuts & Bolts reference. GODAMNIT RARE.
Clearly you never played Nuts n Bolts. It's a great Banjo game.

I like that line about needing to wear glasses... Also, Weldar's boss music is one of the best in the game!
He's so beautiful! In a very "blowtorch crossed with a vacuum cleaner" sort of way... I get all shocked every time he died though...
I LOVE this boss - Not only is it diverse and is it AWESOME, it's also not frustrating.. I love it so much. Probably my favorite boss of the entire Banjo series

Glad you like Weldar. People don’t seem to like Grunty Industries.

'An Excellent Boss'
I thought it was a worm at first
The way he dies just makes me depressed for some reason
He’s not actually dead. After the fight, you can talk to him and he’ll ask if you can recommend a good repairman for him.
He was only doing what the manual says :(
playthrough would be great
Did it take anyone else forever to find this boss? I think it was the last one we found
