What's the first question anybody you meet about DVC asks - "what is your home resort?". When I go to the DVC booth in Tomorrowland for example that's the first thing they ask even before they ask who is my guide or how many points I own or anything else. The concept of a home resort is so central to DVC I just can't see them going down the trust timeshare like Bluegreen or so many others. Disney is very protective of their image in the industry. Time will tell but I don't see it happening.
Hi RBS, Great point, that is the first thing we’re always asked and we answer it proudly. There have been a lot of changes with DVC since we purchased. So good and definitely some bad. As always it just a wait and see because unfortunately they aren’t very forthcoming about the details with anything. Thanks for watching and commenting.
I saw somewhere speculation that they had to do this trust product because the cabins are really just mobile homes so they can’t deed them the same way. The trust would allow for a lot though. I suspect they could choose to sell their east coast beach resorts in 2042 but I think the theme park resorts they could want to throw in the trust like you speculate.
We agree and have always thought it would be nice if you got the full 50 year contract at the time a person bought in. Thanks for watching and commenting. We appreciate your thoughts.
Interesting speculation. This would not be good for Riviera resale folks like me. My only option is Riv, and if I have to share my 11-month advantage with trust holders that will not be good for using or selling my contract. Thanks for your thoughts!
Thank you For All The Information
So nice of you. Thank you for watching and commenting.
Really really interesting. Curious to see what actually happens here
Hi Sean,
I really wish DVC was more focused on sharing information with members and those interested in DVC. Thanks for watching.

Yes to everything while keeping in mind it’s all speculation. Who knows when DVC will fill us in on what will truly happen.
I think a three resort option would be great!! And if it were 50 years no matter what the date, that might entice me to buy direct!

Good point. But it’s all just speculation at this point.
