He has clearly matured a lot since being the last person Dale gave the one-fingered salute to

What makes this finish even more special, Darlington was about to get its dates taken away. It was on the chopping block before this.
This one finish saved the race track.

If this win doesn’t happen Darlington probably left off the schedule by 2005 and none of us would have any great memories of the Lady in Black. I wouldn’t have the memory of 2011 riding around in the pace car at 100mph with the driver have one finger on the wheel and being a foot of the wall in July,2011 before losing my mom in November of that year. Thanks Ricky Craven and Kurt Bush for saving this jewel. Love, A 21 year old Nascar Fan

I'm a Kurt Busch and Rubbermaid fan (Rubbermaid paid for my college; long story but go Wooster, Ohio!) This race and when Kurt pushed Ryan across the line at Daytona are my two favorite races. Kurt, be well in your retirement. We love you.

It is and will always be the best finished I ever watched. Watching the replay never gets old and I've watched the finish more times than I can count. The best thing is how both Kurt and Ricky were able to smile, laugh, and shack hands in victory lane.

I feel that the win was a foreshadowing for Pontiac. An "exciting" brand that had its struggles, an underdog to Chevy. There was some glimmer of hope, only to sadly struggle later in the season & exit the sport totally unceremoniously at seasons end. With GM itself axing the division in 2010.
Interesting to note that NASCAR mostly used Pontiac pace cars throughout the 90s. Always proud when a Pontiac leads the field.
I'll always be a Pontiac guy, always.

I was a good watching this and I couldn't believe what I had seen.......it stills gives me goosebumps, and it isn't talked about as much as it needs to be......it also saved darlington as there were talks of it loosing a date

This finish was one of the first times I watched an iconic sports moment live as it happened. I remember my brother and I were standing up with three laps to go because it was too intense to sit down. It was an amazing victory to witness!

They’re doing retro Radioactives for the 75th season this year. I’m gonna need them to dig through the radios for Darlington once the Southern 500 hits in the fall and get the radios for this race and for this finish.

the only way this gets beat is if we have a 3 wide finish like yesterday at Atlanta but not in the super speedway style racing
if 3 wide finishes happens naturally like at vegas or something you can make the argument but I feel like at superspeedway its kinda manufactured to happen
still was a great finish yesterday though, not the same level as darlington tho
