Driving San Francisco to NoCal border and saw this from route 1. Had to stop and check it out. Very fun and cool. Nice video

    Nicely done video!
I spent 40 years living in west Sonoma County. Access to Ft. Ross was always a pleasure! I got to take my 5 kids there & we all loved it. It's well maintained and a fascinating part of California history. Working as a journalist for The Bodega Bay Navigator newspaper, Ft. Ross was part of my 'beat'. What a great commute!

The Russians inter-married with Alaska natives. Many Alaska natives also have Russian heritage.

Didn’t John Sutter purchase the fort, then dismantled what was useful and use on Sutter’s fort?

    A fortress ...a wooden fort.
