Surprised at the depth of this video and how easy it was to get drawn with the new format before I knew it I was already halfway through the video, I never knew Larry Bird had to deal with so much adversity at such a young age and he truly is an inspiration for everyone to persevere through the hard times. Well-crafted video on Larry Bird, you've earned yourself a subscriber, and looking forward to the next video!
Very good. The only thing missing was when he originally injured his back. It was in 1985 paving the driveway for his mom. The injury turned out to be degenerative in 89/90. He'd have to be in a back brace playing. Had to stretch for 3 hrs before the game. #birdgang 💚🐐🍀
HEY BRO, TERRE HAUTE NATIVE HERE, you should do a video that mentions Larry's right hand index finger injury sustained during a fucking SOFTBALL GAME right before his Senior Year at ISU 😹 and he had to alter his shot FOREVER because of this 😹 but in TRUE LB Fashion, he made himself even Greater by going Lefty in many of his games! Also, Bob Heaton beat Arkansas in the national Semi with a left hand shot in the paint to advance to meet DePaul in the next to last game. Look it up, it's all TRUE I remember it like yesterday, ISU lost to MSU on my 15th birthday that year 😱😱
Great video so far but you are currently discussing his college recruitment and have yet to mention how he himself said he truly learned to play basketball - as a teen playing pickup games in town with black hospitality workers. He said he wanted to play the best and they were the best. Enjoying it though! Very interesting and well done.
Had Larry bird played three more years he most likely would of been the best nba player in history by far even to this very day but that didn’t happen so Lebron James as of now is the best nba player in history by far.
Bird is a more complete player than KD. Bird is a better rebounder and a better passer and Bird even had more steals per game than KD. Bird as a rookie went to a 29 win team and with 1 player change to the roster = ML Carr and a new coach in Bill Fitch, was the main reason Boston won 61 games = a 32 game turnaround. Bird as ROY also was 4th in MVP voting. For the next 8 seasons in the MVP Bird was 2,2,2,1,1,1,3 and 2nd again. KD has never had that dominant of a run. KD joined the Warriors to get his rings. KD averages more points per game but is also playing in an era where it is much easier to score = see "the evolution of the game" for video proof of how the game and the interpretation of the rules have been changed to give the offensive player a much greater advantage. KD is a great player, but better than Bird? no way.
