The work shown here is the for the diversion of Fosse Way over the new railway. The road will pass over the tracks on the bridge, the abutments and piers of which are now being built. The road will eventually cut through the middle of the top roundabout (which is only temporary for access to the HS2 compound). Once the diversion over the bridge is complete, the present road can be dug away to form the cutting through the hillside to carry the railway.
Thank you, it was interesting to see the start of the new bridges over railway for the fosse way and especially the offchurch greenway, I can't wait for that one to be done cause at the moment there's a really dodgy diversion on a sub base path which is horrible to ride on.
HS2 have improved the Fosse by replacing two dodgy crossroads with roundabouts. The crossroads were a bit in the way so work needed doing. HS2 have done a proper job.

the small roundabout will be permanent and the big one will be replaced by a T-junction, removing long itchington road to the west
