  • Training for athletic performance and aesthetics on the side is the best way to build a lean and aesthetic physique. This video dives into my past as an athlete and experiences training as a bodybuilder for aesthetics and for performance. I share my opinion about bodybuilding and training strictly for aesthetics and how when i switched to prioritizing performance in my training, my life improved. I also give a full meal plan on how to eat to acquire a lean athletic physique. This is part 1 of the why I stopped training like a bodybuilder series. Stay tuned for part 2 where I breakdown how to workout to build a lean, athletic, powerful, and aesthetic physique.

imo i dont see why you cant do both. nowadays bodybuilding is much more stretch focused, promoting mobility and good tendon/joint health. many of the bodybuilders you described with their health plummeting was a very large part due to steroid usage. personally ive seen my athletics as a runner only get better through training like a bodybuilder, even if training athletically may be incrementally better for sports in general
