David Bailey is one of the greatest athletes to have participated in the sport of motocross. On top of that he brought the technique of riding the bike to another level, not matched until the arrival of Jett Lawrence. I see so much of David Bailey in Jett Lawrence’s riding.
David will always be my hero and all time favorite rider. My entire bedroom is wall to wall David Bailey. I sleep next to my near mint condition 86' CR250 Bailey replica and collect everything David Bailey related such as JT Racing gear. To me he is the greatest legend of our sport. Thank you for the great video.
I had attended the Superbowl of Motocross at the LA Colosseum and the Rose Bowl Supercross In 1985, but this was my first time attending Anaheim. Greatest competitive race ever. Huge crowd because the LA Rams were still playing there, so it was the Pre-1994 earthquake wrap around football stadium. I made sure to see the Anaheim round every year for almost a decade.
David and Ricky both were on Honda CR 250s works bikes were band after the 1985 season but did you notice Rickys bike had the new at the time non production upside down front forks and David had the conventional front forks on his bike, three years later all Motocross bikes came with the upside down forks !
I remember going to Indian Dunes in 84 and 85 with my new 84 RM125, and at that time the Shadow Glen track had added a very gnarly triple jump that sadly had paralyzed a few guys. I had also been involved in another tragedy at the trails section there, when a neighborhood acquaintance of mine drove my 82 TT 250 off of a 250' cliff, which unfortunately and savagely took his life, and left a widow and two kids behind.

So awesome to have David talk us through the race!!! Awesome!!!
Thanks for doing this. I went to Seattle in 1986. Heart breaking David's injury. What an inspiration he has been before and after.

Greatest night ever of SX from the heats to the Main.
