🤿 We went Freediving DEEP into Ginnie Springs 💧 Snorkeling and Exploring the CLEAREST Water on 🌎

  • We went free diving in Ginnie Springs Florida. Ginnie Springs is the clearest water I have ever seen and might be the clearest place to snorkel, dive or freedive on earth!
There are several separate springs at Ginnie Springs. We started our freediving in the "Little Devil" it is a spring that flows up through a 4 foot wide crack in the ground. I dove to about 50 feet at the bottom of the spring. We also saw a snake swimming nearby in the spring.
Our second dive was at the "Devils Eye" it is a round spring about 25 feet deep that has an entrance to a complex underwater cave system. I did not dive into the cave as you would need a dive light and a cave diver certification to safely enter.
Our third dive was at the "Devils Ear" a very unique spring. The spring is unique because it gets partially covered with the brown water from the Santa Fe River. The darker tannin stained water casts a strange colored glow onto the clear water coming out of the Devils Ear Spring.
We went on to snorkel the dark water in the Santa Fe river and then on to Freedive in the Ginnie Spring itself. The Ginnie Spring is the clearest water I have ever seen!

that log that crosses the outflow at Ginnie has been there for over 50 years, as I can testify...I used to swim there in the '60's and remember it from those times long past...if you swim in the Sante Fe in the dry season the river itself is almost as clear as the springs. Large gar follow the currents, perhaps 6 feet long or more. ...

Little snek looks like a plain-bellied watersnake! While they aren't venomous, the WILL bite you if disturbed. They can be confused with a young Florida Cottonmouth snake, because the coloration can be similar. The cotton mouth IS venomous. Good rule of thumb with watersnakes is to just leave them and gently swim away, just in case!

i like the Ginnie Spring the most. I've never been there but i want to go there someday. I live in Germany so it is far away but one day i will buy a Plane Ticket, fly to Florida to experience it as well. What i think is crazy is the thing that the water is crystal clear on one side and then there is just like a wall that keeps them away from each other. Sure they mix a bit but not completely

...at 10:30 i used to lay in the bottom and relax watching the people attempt to go in one entrance and out the other. Most couldnt get in...love the place. Shame they are the most expensive park on earth to get into :(

I agree. $20 for a single person? Absolutely ridiculous. I have a state park pass so I just paddleboard a mile from blue and bring my mask and fins with me. If I do it 20 times a year that's $400 saved.

Little Devil is 38 feet max, but where you were diving, it is around 33-34 feet. There is no way this hole is 50 feet, you need to change your dive watch. There is also almost no current there.
