  • The state is closing death row at San Quentin and all condemned California inmates are moving to different prisons by the end of summer 2024.
Angela Womble was living in Richmond with her mom and 18-month-old son in July 1986. She remembers when two men with guns came to her home, demanding money. One of them was Willie Darnell Johnson.

Sometimes people who are preyed upon become predators themselves. No one wants feel like a victim not even a victim. It’s a bad cycle but how do you think a person turns bad bc they experience bad. Some people go the opposite route but that’s a blessing. Some people become severe drug users and just fall apart.

Gang members from opposing gangs get locked up at the same prisons all the time. Prison is not a place where we accommodate individuals who chose to do terrible things. Why don’t they interview the victims of this woman’s son? I wonder how they would feel about the situation. It’s called prison for a reason. It’s not supposed to be comfortable and ideal. We really talk about where 2 criminals are housed. I understand that the boy's grandmother was the victim and the perpetrator is now in the same jail. What's the problem? They are both criminals. Yeah, you might worry about a safety, but he should worry about his safety and not going to jail. How about that? So we're literally on TV talking about 2 prisoners. Being locked up together. Really? Maybe a grandson shouldn't have done what he did and he wouldn't be in a jail with a murderer.

Dude saw a robbery go horribly wrong that defined his and his families life forever and still almost ended up being the very same monster that killed his grandmother. It's like he became a robber to get close to the actual killer like in a movie. Ya know where the dea dress up as gang thugs to join the group of people that their gunna take down in the end. Classic move.

My heart goes out to this woman, however this guy has been in prison nearly 40 years. I'm sure if they don't see that he's been rehabilitated that he would not have been moved to that facility. You have to get counseling, pray and learn to let go of that pain. I'm not saying that she's not justified in her feelings, but after 3 decades he's probably in his late 60's. I don't think he's a threat to anyone at this point. God be with her, but she needs to be trying to save her son from being on death row next. It's obvious that he needs help.
