14:46 Jaylen Gibson. Out of System. Double-block ready and waiting... and she CRUSHES it inside the block, and well into the middle of the court. I tell u, Gibson has really impressed me over the past 2 seasons with her ability and improvement. And, not to take credit away from her, but being on the same team, and sharing a court with Parra... that's GOT to have accelerated ALL of TCU's players' growth in the game, in so many ways. After Sets 1 and 2, I was wondering about Kelly, if maybe the big-name UCLA opponent was affecting her confidence, but she REALLY turned it on in the 2nd half of the match... bringing her hitting % back to a respectable .269 after being around .000 after 2 sets, lol. But was really happy for her, that she could snap-back in a big way -- she has a certain hitting style I've come to appreciate -- aggressive, powerful, quick-to-the-ball (VERY important), seems to improvise well (hitting those high, mostly wrist-shots over the block, into the open court)... signs that she can be dynamic and flexible. Super win for TCU, and Queen of the Court, Melanie Parra~!! LOL.

Little by little, Ms. Kelly is coming around. She is growing as a player and as a team mate. Her confidence is getting stronger, not just on herself, but on all of her team mates.

Incredible week for TCU!!! They are getting better with each match. Are they a contender to get the BIG XII Title? I think so. The stronger Parra, Gibson, and Sylvester get, the stronger the other players will get as well. Watching Ms. Kelly grow and improve has been a treat.

12:39 This female announcer is very perceptive and astute in the details of the game. When she says "it (Parra's spikes) just seems like it DROPS much more than other hitters"

The commentator is right about Gibson. You don't often see an opposite who can play 6-rotations and have her ball control. And every season, her passing/defense/court-smarts get better and better. Look at 9:01 -- this is an awesome pancake by Lily... clearly, 'out of system' now. But Gibson takes this ball and makes a PERFECT bump-set to Parra, resulting in a kill, of course -- a clean one at that. But THESE are the 'little things' that most people don't notice/realize which make a HUGE difference in a game that's neck-and-neck, back-and-forth. Most players in her situation would not have had the awareness or skill to deliver that kind of a 2nd ball.

@@Jayydubss You're assuming that Parra will NOT pursue a 5th year or graduate studies at TCU, which is probably a good bet. Unless she's getting a full scholarship or something, I think Parra will do what's best for her future career in volleyball, which is to join a competitive club team and play for (and practice with) the Mexican National Team. It will be interesting to see how she performs at the 'next level' (bigger, more talented blockers and defenders). But, I believe she will shine -- she played for the National Team when she was 16 yrs old, lol -- and she sparkled!! TCU will certainly look to recruit a 'true opposite' via the transfer portal next year so that Gibson can return to playing the left pin. But what will TCU be without Parra? She may very well be the BEST OH and the BEST all-around player in collegiate volleyball right now.

@@djbenje4019 this is her final year…she already said it and she’s not eligible next year anyways…but Maya Allen is commited to TCU next season so she might be fighting for OH as well…definitely looking forward to Parra playing pro ball and see how she does…itll be a learning curve but she has the talent and IQ to be great at the next level…and yea right now Parra is playing the best and arguably the best player in the country

@@Jayydubss Sup Jayydubss, lol. I recognize u from one of Maya's vids comment section. Look, I love to see undersized players who can out-hit/out-play the taller players (I was one of them). But Maya is sooo light-years behind Parra in vball mastery. In fact, 99% of all women's college players are light-years behind her. I'm actually worried that Maya will have a hard time following in Parra's shoes simply because she'll inevitably be compared to Parra, which is... a rough place to have to be. Parra is part of an extremely rare breed of under-6ft players who can 'party with the big girls'. Gabi and Parra pretty much stand alone in that club, but I think Claire Chaussee (from Louisville) might soon join that rarified air (she's a generous 6-ft tall). So, yeah... Maya has a steep climb in front of her.

@@djbenje4019 ohh i definitely agree…i kinda got caught up in the hype when i saw her highlights…and she has talent for sure…but i watched a few of her actual matches and she has alot to learn and grow which obviously takes time…size wise and athletically u naturally would compare them but Parra knows how to use all her skill and IQ…she knows she cant always out jump or out hit everyone so she mixes up her shots which is really smart…but we’ll see how TCU does next season…i wanna see Gibson at the OH tho she deserves it imo
