I just want to say that this video sold me on majoring in Supply Chain Management four years ago as a high school senior. I’m now about to graduate college and start working as a supply chain project manager for a well-known retailer. Thank you to Arizona State and the W.P. Carey School of Business for the inspiration! I highly recommend this video to anyone who’s interested in the field.
@@Mr.hyde1886 It’s worked out great! I haven’t had a single day where I regret going down this path. Can’t recommend SCM enough. What I loved about majoring- and now working- in SCM is that you’re working with almost every part of the business on a daily basis, depending on what role you’re in (engineering, marketing, data, finance). Really gives you a broad knowledge that sets you up for the rest of your career. The one piece of advice I’d add is to get a minor/certificate/anything in Data Analytics. I use SQL and Power BI on a daily basis, and I think having that on my resume in college gave me an advantage. Let me know if there’s any other questions you have; I’d love to help however I can.

I haven't finished this video yet, and I love it already. I would be so great if you could do a video for every industry. I think the graphic representation of every term at the right hand side helps a lot for all visual learners.
This was an amazingly easy to understand video! It makes it so easy even though many of my fellow business students (including me) often forget the core ideas of SCM!
This was a very interesting way to keep the viewer entertained all the while and not making this sound like a boring story. good use if the animations. great work.
Supply chain management (SCM) is the broad range of activities required to plan, control and execute a product's flow, from acquiring raw materials and production through distribution to the final customer, in the most streamlined and cost-effective way possible.
Total Revenue of the bottles ( all the amount of water that is purchased by consumers) - Totoal Expenses (all the shit that comes with making water bottles and water by suppliers)
If all operational activities/processes of supply chain (sourcing, making, and delivering) are managed (planned, implemented, and controlled) by a single organization (or a firm), is the organization still considered doing a supply chain management? (e.g. one organization might source their own product's raw material and energy source by themselves, transform those material into finished goods by themselves, and deliver those finished goods to end users by themselves); and if it works, then what is the term 'efficiency' means in supply chain context? is it refer to money spent or natural resource used?
Arizona State may be known for their extra-curricular activities (a.k.a. partying), but this is one of the best subject intro videos I have seen and an excellent tutorial on SCM for novices (and upper executives). Bravo!
No one:
No kid:
Not any kid on earth:
Kid: I want to become a supply chain manager when I grow up

As a logistics senior NCO in the Army, I can tell you that supply chain is critical to mission success.

That's because marketing courses are a waste of time. Do you know who Edward Bernays is? If not, you should ask your college for your money back.

The speaker is Professor Davila and he teaches all the SCM 300 classes. Great class, made me change to SCM.
