Dude it's so rampant in Dead by Daylight right now. People use subtle hacks like 5% speed boost and have the nerve to say things like GG in end game chat as if they aren't cheating. Tons of blatant hackers doing impossible things too but the ones who pretend they aren't doing it are super frustrating.
it happens a lot, i have seen people in a number of games trash talk others when they have hacks, and even in a few cases, see some one else activate counter hacks against only that person, then they start saying the person who turned on counter hacks is so bad that they have to use hacks to beat them as phuzzy says, in these peoples minds, they cant lose

@@prouser7150 When people refer to hit reg, they refer to the shots from your gun not registering, not the cannon. Their gun shots are dead on like the old Eye of Reach skellys and miss very few times.
Everytime I encounter those kind of players I feel bad for any new players who encountered them before me. It can be so nerve wracking even trying to talk to them in a calm and polite way after they called you trash and so on. Especially if you were doing some tall tales and only minding your own business. If I am ever lucky enough to meet you in the sea of thieves I want to play a shanty with you and give you my loot to say thank you. SO much great content for new players and also more experienced ones.
Once I was new I was alone, just buying stuff on the island, minding my bussines, they arrives and threw fire balls at me, then gave me my boat flag, they said someone destroyed it, and I said thank you, and then they said it was them, and chased me with fireballs, then grabbed my parrot and tried to burn it and laughed a lot, I felt so bad because I was alone and these two guys were just trying to make me feel bad

But to harass new players with nothing to gain just to fit thier bad ego. Idk I'm not a n narcissistic person so it just don't click for me. No honor in a sea of thieves tho. There is a code but you don't have to follow it and people don't have to like it. So I get it... Just won't catch me dread doing it but I appreciate the balance it brings so when you do meet friendly players it's refreshing. That and it's sweet sweet victory when you sink them and they rage like this video.
They don't have jobs, a family, or other such important obligations in life. That's why they put so much weight into video games and how "good" they are at them. It's all that is relevant in their life.
A year late perhaps, but I had a similar experience earlier today against a brigantine. They sunk us for no reason other than "lol we can" (2-man sloop vs 3-man brig) as we just made an admittedly bad course through the Skeleton Fleet. ...The Skele-Galleon shot *over* us to attack the brig, avoiding our sloop. Not just once either, but a good 5 whole broadside salvos from the Galleon went over us before the galleon actually did start firing *at* us instead of over. it was still pretty cool for the duration of this temporary truce though

Yes. My SO and I play 7 Days together (she isn't a fan of SoT, what can I say?), and I can't imagine a better person to play with. Complementary play styles, a bit of arguing of who is in charge, and someone who always has your back, no matter how many zombies you "accidentally" have chasing you.
lol I really doubt they were aim-botting, the shots they were landing are easy shots to land. in the water phuzzy is hardly moving except in a strait line. these players just have above-average aim. If you go to tdm you will find that people have much better aim than this.

You can always tell when the extra salty players are shook, as Jackie says, they never shut up to let you speak! Thankfully, I've only had a handful of toxic players like this since launch. Some people take these pixels far too serious sometimes. Much love.

Its the main problem with the pvp in this game like sinking ships for loot is one thing but theses guys sink just to please there ego. and the profanity and racist comments are just pathetic at the end of the day its a video game thinking you are better than someone else just because they can kill them reppetably in a game just says you clearly have no life in order to have got that "good" at pvp. and the fact they have alt accounts is just sad the only reason for that is because they know there racist comments are gonna get them banned but they are too much of a coward to do it on there main account
Stuff, like this happens to my deaf friend all the time she meets a lot of hackers and PC sweats that are super toxic and racist. she’s new but still gives them a good fight, her kindness always triggers them they even go as far as messaging on xbox and mocking her for being deaf. these are the kind of people that are so trash in real life, they’ve to coop by trying to make others feel like trash but when they’re not skilled enough to do so they hack. I feel bad that her experience has been nonstop toxicity and hackers, but she still became pirate legend in just 20 days time and 50 in reapers for her final company ggs and god bless those who don’t pull this crap you’re an amazing person!

You and Jackie have the best attitude in a PvX game I've seen in years, and I would feel safe on a server roamed by the two of you, not because I don't expect a fight (And most likely a loss, as I just started 4 days ago) but because I know you'll both be there to take out the trash, all without ever dropping to their level. I played with a guy the other day with a attitude much like yours. The positive demeanor only helps as a team. You communicate much better in situations because there is no much wasted breath. I can't even play with a toxic person anymore because it's annoying and I am to busy trying to bark orders over a loud mouth. It's much more relaxing with a calm headed person
Unfortunately i've been running into people like this a lot more lately, somehow always know where you are, shots never miss, snipes that always hit at amazing distances. Seems at least once a day you run into someone that never misses.

If I have leant anything in this life so far, it's that those who resort to violence, aggression and insults as an instant response are not worth any sort acknowledgment, respect or attention. They should be left alone in hope they may gain some self-awareness as to why no one truly loves and cares for them. I commend you and your other half for the amount of strength and love you held over these people. Killing toxic hackers has got to be the most fun you can have in a game. When you beat them and the server sees you beat a hacker without cheating you gain so much notoriety and the hacker usually rages so much he physically breaks something; either slam his keyboard or punching his monitor.
Blows my mind that people download/buy this beauty of a game when they themselves are so ugly. Scurvy rats scurry fast when they back’s against the walls.
I've had a similar experience like this, not the best at the game but people like this really get under my skin. I like how you handled the situation and didn't stupe to their level. I'm gonna try to do the same the next time a situation like this happens.
gosh... im such an old salt of a player when the game first came out. I swear I had been duped one or two times with people who I assumed were cheating but some of my friends were convinced that it wasn't and these people were just try hards. To see that a professional streaming in a real game had to deal with people using third party software to have a good time playing a video game makes me feel a lot better about the couple times I honestly think someone was cheating. Thanks Phuzzy and Jackie! can anyone reply and let me know if they have experienced cheaters also? I thought it was just me and had to convince myself that no one would do that in sea of thieves but its as if they didn't even want to play the game if they are letting another program play it for them. How often have people come across cheaters? is it a 1% chance or higher? Its a little disheartening because I haven't played in months because the last time I played was being chased by a crew that I thought was cheating for 5+ hours. it was a terrible play sesh and I was so convinced they were cheating and my crew and friends that i know in real life tried to suggest otherwise but this just proves it to me that more people are cheating in the sea of thieves. Why even play then? Im still a bit upset about what happened to me last.. like I said I have only logged in, havent even set sail off the dock cuz every time I play or think about playing after I had this terrible experience I have lost a lot of love and spirit for the game and almost immediately log out cuz Im concerned it would happen again. Literally had a play session about 4 months ago into the last season and this happened to me and it got to a point where I feel like its not gunna be fun anymore if more and more people are cheating. Either way, thanks Phuzzy and Jackie... seeing you guys fight them, beat them, or even just deal with them like I had in my experience does make me feel a bit better.. just wish people would play a game to have fun, and also know that you can have fun losing too. There is no need to get aggressive, stressed, and hurt someone mentally physically or spiritually with your actions or words over something that it meant to give someone recreational enjoyment.
450 hours, come across hackers twice. They could shoot me deep under water and always knew where I was so ESP/aimbot. 2nd time was similar but no ESP, they never missed a shot or chain shot. We ended up sinking them though by catching them off guard with a deck shot board.
with the advent of portal hopping it is somewhat easier to curate your experience, all you really need to do is set up the tall tale and have a buddy drive by sell your loot when you have some breathing room and then once all the stuff is sold you can just sail through the portal and cancel and you're in a whole new server. you even get to keep your emissary, though emissary quests are removed from your log if you had any active. it's far from a perfect compromise but it is better than nothing
Well I'm pretty new to the game so I'm not qualified to call for cheats, but my crew and I had real doubts about a player, he boarded our ship, killed two mates with a single blunderbuss shot across deck, then one shot me and my other mate (both full life) with a pistol. Then he proceeded to trashtalk. From my understanding, there is no oneshotting in the game except for close range BB on a full life pirate...that sucked, we just changed servers.^^
This was therapeutic to watch, I missed season 1 because of a combination of college work and not wanting to deal with toxic players sinking me during a tall tale. I was just barely pirate legend and I could've qualified to get that legendary curse had I finished the plunder pass, now I can never finish my curses collection. I am glad to see that someone is helping punish people for what they did to guys like myself who just want to enjoy the game with what little time they have.
A few weeks back I was playing with 2 friends, one of which had only just bought the game after we managed to convince him as he was tentative, on our second day playing with him we encountered a galleon of hackers, caused my “new” friend to rage quit, he uninstalled the game then tried to get a refund for it as he got super tilted. Aimbotters are an absolute scourge in this game, it’s super frustrating but watching this made me quite happy, seeing some justice server.
Had a duo on a sloop call my friend and I losers in a screechy voice just a minute before we fucking sunk them (our first spawn was on a desert island, so no skins on the ship. They might have assumed we were total noobs)… my friend called him a loser as we sailed away with the little they had (a few harpoons, that’s it). Don’t be assholes, you only end up losing.

It's one thing to do a bit of trash talking and in the end going GG and moving on (its a PVP game, its to be expected), but JFC. I got pretty salty against a galleon when a friend and I were slooping it up, and said some NSFW things (not on this level, obvi), but after we sank and chatted for a bit, it was GG, songs played, and off to another adventure. Those are the kind of guys that will burn through all the content in a video game in a matter of days and then complain there's nothing for them to do.
The fact that they need both alt accounts and cheats tells you that those people irl have nothing going on in their already tiny, insignificant lives, and that they need to get easy wins with no effort put in at all, just to lift the ego. Truly they are a sad bunch, and I'm glad you and your crew go out of your way to put them in their rightful place (at the bottom of the ocean).
Realizing those accounts were alts made me think-do they lvl them themselves? Some of their cosmetics aren't basic, so I guess they'd have to buy those accs, or they weren't reported until now, which is unlikely. So I googled it, people actually sell SoT accs. Even more than that, people sell boosting in SoT, specifically on Arena, and grinding the gold curse. In a game with purely cosmetic progression. Why???
I just can't understand how this feels rewarding. Calling others trash when you yourself are using cheats in a game that quite frankly won't matter the instant you get off. If you want to be good at the game it ain't rocket science that cheats isn't the way to do it. You play that game and get better through the school of hard knocks like anything else. Personally I could take no pride playing that way. Also, why be so vulgar about it? I'll be the first to admit that I get upset when I lose as much as I wish I didn't, but I never once would even think about taking to voice or in game chat about it... its a shame that people forget that their playing a game and see the need to only win. If you keep winning all the time it means people are loosing. If people are loosing people are leaving the game. So if their cheating they are killing the game, even when they think they win, they loose and the game devs loose

When ever I run into a toxic player. I turn on my voice changer so my voice is deeper and I push play on the Yakety sax, Trololo song, if we keep pushing I play Never gonna give you up, and at the start of fighting I play the Tin-Tin on theme song as a battle cry.

Just had the worst game ever yesterday, managed to make a crap tonne of gold and I forgot I was on open crew. An afker/leech joined, as I complete the emissary and get go out to sell a full man brig pulls up and my lovely leech assumes that staring at the brig at not being useful was the best way to help, we sank as I couldn't bail, kick off boarders, repair and shoot at the same time. I wish there was a way captains of their ship could kick out people from their ship

While I also get very angry at video games / players, you have to keep the anger to yourself and stay off comms. I'm certain that other players would not want to hear my in-game profanities, and I certainly would not want to hear their profanities either. In other words, scream at your T.V. all you want, no one wants to hear it on comms.

Then some salty 12 year olds decided we were their prey. We were eating so naturally we turned against the wind and let them follow us for an hour and a half, poking the salty kids every time they got bored and turned away. All the while they were screaming nasty things at us about our moms (go figure). When dinner was over we turned around poked the salty bear and send them to davy jones faster then I'dd normally sink to others. Some more insults about our moms while we laughed at them. After the ferry man gave them a good staredown we only saw their sails again at the horizon. Never closer. We finished our tall tale in peace :)

I think I know these guys or know 2 guys that you ran into that you called out for cheating. They were telling me how bad you were and how they aren’t sure why Rare keeps banning them (one of them was banned 5 times because they have his IP info) for cheating and being racist. I was watching you on twitch when you ran into them and I’m pretty sure this was them, but idk. Anyway, I reported them, blocked them, and left their discord server and I have no regrets. A year late perhaps, but I had a similar experience earlier today against a brigantine. They sunk us for no reason other than "lol we can" (2-man sloop vs 3-man brig) as we just made an admittedly bad course through the Skeleton Fleet.
...The Skele-Galleon shot *over* us to attack the brig, avoiding our sloop. Not just once either, but a good 5 whole broadside salvos from the Galleon went over us before the galleon actually did start firing *at* us instead of over. it was still pretty cool for the duration of this temporary truce though

Yes. My SO and I play 7 Days together (she isn't a fan of SoT, what can I say?), and I can't imagine a better person to play with. Complementary play styles, a bit of arguing of who is in charge, and someone who always has your back, no matter how many zombies you "accidentally" have chasing you.

Its the main problem with the pvp in this game like sinking ships for loot is one thing but theses guys sink just to please there ego. and the profanity and racist comments are just pathetic at the end of the day its a video game thinking you are better than someone else just because they can kill them reppetably in a game just says you clearly have no life in order to have got that "good" at pvp.
and the fact they have alt accounts is just sad the only reason for that is because they know there racist comments are gonna get them banned but they are too much of a coward to do it on there main account
Stuff, like this happens to my deaf friend all the time she meets a lot of hackers and PC sweats that are super toxic and racist. she’s new but still gives them a good fight, her kindness always triggers them they even go as far as messaging on xbox and mocking her for being deaf. these are the kind of people that are so trash in real life, they’ve to coop by trying to make others feel like trash but when they’re not skilled enough to do so they hack. I feel bad that her experience has been nonstop toxicity and hackers, but she still became pirate legend in just 20 days time and 50 in reapers for her final company ggs and god bless those who don’t pull this crap you’re an amazing person!

You and Jackie have the best attitude in a PvX game I've seen in years, and I would feel safe on a server roamed by the two of you, not because I don't expect a fight (And most likely a loss, as I just started 4 days ago) but because I know you'll both be there to take out the trash, all without ever dropping to their level. I played with a guy the other day with a attitude much like yours. The positive demeanor only helps as a team. You communicate much better in situations because there is no much wasted breath. I can't even play with a toxic person anymore because it's annoying and I am to busy trying to bark orders over a loud mouth. It's much more relaxing with a calm headed person
Unfortunately i've been running into people like this a lot more lately, somehow always know where you are, shots never miss, snipes that always hit at amazing distances. Seems at least once a day you run into someone that never misses.

Killing toxic hackers has got to be the most fun you can have in a game. When you beat them and the server sees you beat a hacker without cheating you gain so much notoriety and the hacker usually rages so much he physically breaks something; either slam his keyboard or punching his monitor.

gosh... im such an old salt of a player when the game first came out. I swear I had been duped one or two times with people who I assumed were cheating but some of my friends were convinced that it wasn't and these people were just try hards. To see that a professional streaming in a real game had to deal with people using third party software to have a good time playing a video game makes me feel a lot better about the couple times I honestly think someone was cheating. can anyone reply and let me know if they have experienced cheaters also? I thought it was just me and had to convince myself that no one would do that in sea of thieves but its as if they didn't even want to play the game if they are letting another program play it for them. How often have people come across cheaters? is it a 1% chance or higher? Its a little disheartening because I haven't played in months because the last time I played was being chased by a crew that I thought was cheating for 5+ hours. it was a terrible play sesh and I was so convinced they were cheating and my crew and friends that i know in real life tried to suggest otherwise but this just proves it to me that more people are cheating in the sea of thieves. Why even play then?
Im still a bit upset about what happened to me last.. like I said I have only logged in, havent even set sail off the dock cuz every time I play or think about playing after I had this terrible experience I have lost a lot of love and spirit for the game and almost immediately log out cuz Im concerned it would happen again. Literally had a play session about 4 months ago into the last season and this happened to me and it got to a point where I feel like its not gunna be fun anymore if more and more people are cheating. There is no need to get aggressive, stressed, and hurt someone mentally physically or spiritually with your actions or words over something that it meant to give someone recreational enjoyment.
450 hours, come across hackers twice. They could shoot me deep under water and always knew where I was so ESP/aimbot. 2nd time was similar but no ESP, they never missed a shot or chain shot. We ended up sinking them though by catching them off guard with a deck shot board.
I found a reaper ship going completely off map and still surviving and people that immediately found me tucking without them seeing me before that
with the advent of portal hopping it is somewhat easier to curate your experience, all you really need to do is set up the tall tale and have a buddy drive by sell your loot when you have some breathing room and then once all the stuff is sold you can just sail through the portal and cancel and you're in a whole new server. you even get to keep your emissary, though emissary quests are removed from your log if you had any active. it's far from a perfect compromise but it is better than nothing
Well I'm pretty new to the game so I'm not qualified to call for cheats, but my crew and I had real doubts about a player, he boarded our ship, killed two mates with a single blunderbuss shot across deck, then one shot me and my other mate (both full life) with a pistol. Then he proceeded to trashtalk. From my understanding, there is no oneshotting in the game except for close range BB on a full life pirate...that sucked, we just changed servers.^^

This was therapeutic to watch, I missed season 1 because of a combination of college work and not wanting to deal with toxic players sinking me during a tall tale. I was just barely pirate legend and I could've qualified to get that legendary curse had I finished the plunder pass, now I can never finish my curses collection. I am glad to see that someone is helping punish people for what they did to guys like myself who just want to enjoy the game with what little time they have.
Ugh, these are the kind of players that ruin this game for me. For every cool sportsman like player I meet, I also meet ten of these dimwits.
A few weeks back I was playing with 2 friends, one of which had only just bought the game after we managed to convince him as he was tentative, on our second day playing with him we encountered a galleon of hackers, caused my “new” friend to rage quit, he uninstalled the game then tried to get a refund for it as he got super tilted.
Aimbotters are an absolute scourge in this game, it’s super frustrating but watching this made me quite happy, seeing some justice server.

Had a duo on a sloop call my friend and I losers in a screechy voice just a minute before we fucking sunk them (our first spawn was on a desert island, so no skins on the ship. They might have assumed we were total noobs)… my friend called him a loser as we sailed away with the little they had (a few harpoons, that’s it).

It's one thing to do a bit of trash talking and in the end going GG and moving on (its a PVP game, its to be expected), but JFC. I got pretty salty against a galleon when a friend and I were slooping it up, and said some NSFW things (not on this level, obvi), but after we sank and chatted for a bit, it was GG, songs played, and off to another adventure.
Those are the kind of guys that will burn through all the content in a video game in a matter of days and then complain there's nothing for them to do.
The fact that they need both alt accounts and cheats tells you that those people irl have nothing going on in their already tiny, insignificant lives, and that they need to get easy wins with no effort put in at all, just to lift the ego.
Truly they are a sad bunch, and I'm glad you and your crew go out of your way to put them in their rightful place (at the bottom of the ocean).

Realizing those accounts were alts made me think-do they lvl them themselves? Some of their cosmetics aren't basic, so I guess they'd have to buy those accs, or they weren't reported until now, which is unlikely. So I googled it, people actually sell SoT accs. Even more than that, people sell boosting in SoT, specifically on Arena, and grinding the gold curse. In a game with purely cosmetic progression. Why???
I believe they where stupid and cheated on their main and got hwid or ip banned. Installed a bypass(or vpn) and just made new accounts.
I just can't understand how this feels rewarding. Calling others trash when you yourself are using cheats in a game that quite frankly won't matter the instant you get off. If you want to be good at the game it ain't rocket science that cheats isn't the way to do it. You play that game and get better through the school of hard knocks like anything else. Personally I could take no pride playing that way. Also, why be so vulgar about it? I'll be the first to admit that I get upset when I lose as much as I wish I didn't, but I never once would even think about taking to voice or in game chat about it... its a shame that people forget that their playing a game and see the need to only win. If you keep winning all the time it means people are loosing. If people are loosing people are leaving the game. So if their cheating they are killing the game, even when they think they win, they loose and the game devs loose

When ever I run into a toxic player. I turn on my voice changer so my voice is deeper and I push play on the Yakety sax, Trololo song, if we keep pushing I play Never gonna give you up, and at the start of fighting I play the Tin-Tin on theme song as a battle cry.

Just had the worst game ever yesterday, managed to make a crap tonne of gold and I forgot I was on open crew. An afker/leech joined, as I complete the emissary and get go out to sell a full man brig pulls up and my lovely leech assumes that staring at the brig at not being useful was the best way to help, we sank as I couldn't bail, kick off boarders, repair and shoot at the same time.
I wish there was a way captains of their ship could kick out people from their ship

While I also get very angry at video games / players, you have to keep the anger to yourself and stay off comms. I'm certain that other players would not want to hear my in-game profanities, and I certainly would not want to hear their profanities either. In other words, scream at your T.V. all you want, no one wants to hear it on comms.

Reminds me of this time I was chilling on the seas during a talltale with a friend. Then some salty 12 year olds decided we were their prey. We were eating so naturally we turned against the wind and let them follow us for an hour and a half, poking the salty kids every time they got bored and turned away. All the while they were screaming nasty things at us about our moms (go figure). When dinner was over we turned around poked the salty bear and send them to davy jones faster then I'dd normally sink to others. Some more insults about our moms while we laughed at them. After the ferry man gave them a good staredown we only saw their sails again at the horizon. Never closer. We finished our tall tale in peace :)

They were telling me how bad you were and how they aren’t sure why Rare keeps banning them (one of them was banned 5 times because they have his IP info) for cheating and being racist. I got this game three days ago and I quickly learnt what truly matters: Cashing in the gold. You stole other's cargo and stole and sold it, maybe even sunk the ship? You totally won. Killing other players is not any form of measurement, only means of reaching da booty.
