My Pops worked on this film, visual effects, and that’s the EXACT thing he told me when the 2001 Iraq War broke out. My mind was blown at the fact that this movie predicted drone warfare
They usually do. Remember, even H.G.Wells called 1927 Metropolis the "biggest piece of shit ever!"...now considered one of the most influential and classic movies ever created.
It's always gonna be overshadowed by other Robin Williama films but I think this is an excellent film, the soundtrack alone is 100 times better than most
"BLASTED UN... ALWAYS GETTING IN THE DAMN WAY! YOU HAVE NO BUSINESS BEING HERE!" - my favorite quote from the movie. Boy can I relate to General Zevo. .....wait, am I the baddie?
That reminds me. This soundtrack is missing the Pleasuredome variant you hear when the crew is running and infiltrating the toy base at night near the end of the movie. I been looking for that one for years, it's right when the General turns on his computer to track them.
One of "THE" best movies I have ever seen. The battle sequence, plus music puts me in tears every time...RIP Robin Williams, Agggghhhhhh, I'm crying now......
I still cry every time I watch the film. For me the film finally garnered the audience it was intended for given all the violent toys that seem to be the only interest kids have today. Love how Nerf came out with a foam pellet claymore mine. I still believe to this day Robin would have done more with the film had he be given more creative control.
Holy shit that's exactly what happened to me! I heard the Hoo.. Ha!... HooHa! and thought "I heard that in Toys decades ago! Spend the last 10 minutes trying to find it hahaha
I liked the beginning part of it the best: To hear the techno- esque beat symbolizing the General and his destructive abominations, then that gorgeous instrumental cover of 'The Closing of the Year' symbolizing Leslie and the toys, makes for such a beautiful contrast to start the battle.
"Let Joy and Innocence Prevail" added in even highlights Leslie's growth, not wanting his father's dream destroyed and taking responsibility as an adult. It balances out the fun of childhood while not doing away with it while grown up.
needs a remix without the circus shit. also, i adore this film and have since i first saw it soon after its OG release, so no hate, just need the 1 hr battle mix we all want.
2:43 HA-SHI-MOTO! HA-SHI-MOTO! HA-SHI-MOTO! HA-SHI-MOTO!
This film actually nailed the premise and ultimately execution of drone warfare perfectly and you don't see people mention it very often
I remember thinking the "war games" the kids were playing would have made awesome video games back then.
in 1992. just for reference that was the year wolf3d came out

most underrated movie ever
I have a lot of affection for this movie. It may not be an especially good film... but it’s a *great* movie to me.
An amazing movie. The critics got it completely wrong.
They usually do. Remember, even H.G.Wells called 1927 Metropolis the "biggest piece of shit ever!"...now considered one of the most influential and classic movies ever created.
I remember coming out of the cinema feeling that it was a slice of genius. It was exactly what I was expecting and it delivered.
It's always gonna be overshadowed by other Robin Williama films but I think this is an excellent film, the soundtrack alone is 100 times better than most
Toys was ahead of its time
fcuk the critics we love it its a cult classic

Oh my goodness they riped the song for Hashimoto?!?

爆勝宣言(Bakusyou Sengen )
Heard this during a party scene in WW84 today even though there are direct cues to the Toys soundtrack.
Holy shit that's exactly what happened to me! I heard the Hoo.. Ha!... HooHa! and thought "I heard that in Toys decades ago! Spend the last 10 minutes trying to find it hahaha
I love how it cues up to "hoo-ha, hoo-ha" right when Barbra walks in
Glad they're bringing people back to this criminally underrated masterpiece.
Hans Zimmer was composer for both ‘Toys’ and ‘WW84’. Clearly he’s a fan of Frankie Goes To Hollywood, and especially this particular track.
Probably one of my favorite movies, and my favorite song from it.
The best version of this track. The cd version pales in comparison. So much awesome.
This is the most whimsical badass song ever composed.
2:43 橋本のテーマ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The "Into Battle" mix of Frankie Goes To Hollywoods fourth single. It's not an original mix, but was done specifically for the film.
kinda makes it an original mix, tho, don't it?
a movie about realistic(ish) drone warfare in 1992. awesome.

@@Brando_Broshi that was beautifully said.
Just as incredible music as I remember it!!
"Let's wind up the troops..."
Imagine playing all-out an RTS video game when this plays
i'm old and i used to do that when playing C&C in 1995
my precious childhood movie...
Finally I found that intro that Steve Corino used at Final Battle 2011 and Best in the World 2016, and also a great movie.
It's on Hashimotos NJPW theme as well
This slaps so hard!!!
Oh man, it has been so long since I've heard this. The nostalgia! You've made me so happy. :D
This part was absolutely bananas!
It made me think I was high as a kite, and then I wished I was.
RIP Robin Williams

2024 anyone❓
YES!
This movie featured early musical appearances by both Hans Zimmer AND Seal.
Zimmer was well into his film composing career at this point. He had done the score for Rain Man before reuniting with Barry Levinson for Toys.
Trevor Horn a album producer
