The whole reason for Bret and the story was to honour Johnny Hockey, with a bit of a story intermingled. Did nobody watch the emotional Jackie Redmond salute? Or did that not show up on American TV? For a rare instance, WWE decided to do something for someone else. Maybe I'm just dreaming that up, but Jackie did a class move for the fans of the Calgary Flames and Johnny Gaudreau & his brother. Americans probably don't care, but it was a big deal for Calgarians and NHL fans in attendance.

Criticism is a part of the beauty of free speech. It is no different than the people who criticized wcw nitro or even 90s wwf. People abide by this narrative that "who is russo to critique other people's booking or writing when he did x,y,z to WCW and TNA" But he's showing you that what's good for the goose, is good for the gander.
