- A classic Kung Fu movie featuring the Flying Guillotine, the One-Armed Boxer, and the Indian - amongst others. One of my favorites as a kid growing up in Los Angeles. This Master of the Flying Guillotine is a compilation of one video with poor audio quality and another with poor video quality. I took the best of them to result in what you see here. This seems to be a lower resolution than what I produced after YT processed it, but it still looks decent. Enjoy!

That music (and the opening punk theme) was by a 60s garage band

Children can be afraid of the silliest things. This old man and his theme music scared TF outa me in my childhood. LOL! That music meant that he was in the vicinity, and he's slow moving like freaking Michael Myers, but he knows kung fu, and he has super hearing ability so you better be quiet, or else you will be beheaded. All the ingredients to scare a little kid. LOL!

totally ingenious kung fu smart and clever old fox lots of applause.
In case you’re wondering who the three guys are on the drawing, the middle main guy is Guan Yu, behind him left is his lifelong sworn martial servant Zhou Cang holding Guan’s Green Dragon halberd and the other guy is Guan Ping, Yu’s adopted son and second in command.

Same reason they can't make really entertaining radio dramas any more. 1) the technology has advanced too far to render the same effects in sound (and picture), 2) the performers are not trained in the required performance styles, 3) audiences expect modern special effects and production values, 4) producers and sponsors don't see the economic value of older styles of entertainment. Be glad though, not only do we still have these old gems, there are still performing arts students, film school students, audio engineers and writers that love all this old stuff and sneak bits of it into the current dreck being shoveled out by HBO, Paramount, Netflix and Disney.

I was trying to improve the video quality with software and the auto-contrast was inconsistent, so you see dark-to-light fades in many of the scenes. I may upload a copy minus the auto-contrast as well. Feel free to download that classic!
This has always been my best favorite classic kung fu movie ever! Though, the man from India is like Dhalsim from Street Fighter doing his long arm moves 👍🏿👌🏿👏🏿⛩️🥋☯️🫸🏿🤛🏿🙏🏿

It's too bad the audio language tracks cut between English and Chinese.
Even the DVD remaster studios had trouble salvaging the audio
from the original film reels.

Without a doubt one of the best tournament fighting sequences in martial arts films I think it was much better than enter the dragons fighting tournament it has more variety of fighting styles and the acting is first class

This is the first time I’ve ever seen this film. I didn’t know there was a sequel to one armed boxer. Always liked Jimmy Wang Yu . Me and my kid brother saw one armed boxer back in the 70’ and Kung fu’d each other all the way home. 🤣🤣🤣👍
😩 " OMG!.... This badly needs redubbing in English. All of the uploaded online versions are the same. It should have been left in Mandarin and subtitled. Those of Us who don't understand the language are missing parts because of translation lapses. "
Is there any non-uploaded version that has better dubbing? This is pretty much how I remember it (as part of Kung Fu Theater I believe). Those of us that grew up watching these types of films pretty much accept the dubbing as a sort of alternative language itself.

Have you considered using the editor for closed caption English rendering?
I think I would need to start with some automatic, perhaps AI assisted, tool first since time has been tight lately. I was able to taste the work involved with the movie "The Earthling". I was able to find a resource online that got me about, 70% of the way. After that, it was still a lot of work to re-align and fix what was wrong. But I got the job done ultimately. I'm open to past in the text if anyone has it though.
I just found some subtitles from another video that I'm going to use as a foundation for the subtitles on this video. They've been applied but need a lot of work. Thanks for the suggestion.

Good catch, I've never noticed that. At the same time, it isn't surprising since we've all seen these one-armed actors real arm tucked away with elbow poking at the side of their garments at times. It confirms how great these classic Kung Fu movies are.

The Flying Guillotine is so dumb ass as a weapon and does our silly looking villain no good in the end. The one armed fighting is ludicrous and the bad guy's sound effects are essentially the same sound every time he moves. Garbage of the lowest order.
The stupidest Kung Fu film ever made. Silly doesn't even cover it. His teaching technique is called "showing off". Its a very effective method, apparently.
