Great to see Bama finish the season on a positive note, with a win over a program as prestigious as Michigan. The defensive performance in the second half was particularly encouraging!
You have to give the players a lot of credit for showing up. There are so many people who tell them to sit out these bowls, but they came out anyway and played with the kind of intensity it takes to win.

@@thedungeondelver didn't matter Mac Jones just had a Joe Burrow or better type season and totally looked more impressive than Tua did. Mac Jones had better pocket awareness and made quicker smarter decisions than Tua ever did, Mac Jones developed into a star.
Looking at several of You Tube's fantastic games of past years, it brings home just how difficult getting into the NFL and then staying healthy really is. Some absolute superstars in these games didn't make it or got injured early on. The really unfortunate part is when a player got drafted and then that team's OC or DC changed...then was a mismatch to that team.
Both these teams were very talented! Count the number of NFL players on both sides: Jerry Juedy, Henry Rugs, Mac Jones, Daxton Hill, Niko Collins, DPJ, Zach Charbinet, Davante Smith, Aiden Hutchinson, Patrick Surtain II, etc.
This may be an unpopular take, but I DO NOT like McElroy as a color analyst. He seems to be trying to be too unbiased to the point that he seems to favor Bama's opponents when he does their games. Also, he seems to be a bit arrogant and snarky toward Saban. He even made some joke about how conservative the play calling was when he was at Bama, to which Saban retorted "Well, that all depended on the type of QBs we had at that time."

If anyone wonders why Bama scored that final TD instead of kneeling to end the game, as you would normally see us do, think back to Jim Harbaugh holding camps down here in SEC country, running his mouth like an idiot. That's why, and we all really appreciate Nick for his kind gesture. As far as I can tell, the message was well received by Captain Khaki.
That's what I loved about this game. Saban took it very personally, and I felt like he took over the game plan completely. Kinda hard to explain. When you watch your favorite team play every week you notice the little things lol. But a very enjoyable game.

It’s because the SEC was absolutely stacked with NFL talent. That LSU team that year was also insane. And remember, Alabama went on the next year to win it all.
Im sitting here thinking the same thing. Fine we’re not a deep ball threat offense but we can still run some of these short or intermediate passing schemes to non-tight ends and do some designed qb runs right??

Jalen Milroe isn't going to beat you with his arm unless your Auburn but his legs at any time during the game can seriously burn you! It should be a great game either way👍

The momentum of this game without a doubt carried over to 2020. This and the Auburn game was a sign of things to come for Mac Jones and the offense
This team was a hair away from being the best team in the nation that year as well. Few mishaps and injuries is all that made the difference.
Not sure how good that defense would've been regardless. It was great to see the D improve in 2020, and 2021 should be even better. They are loaded.
