I used to follow his building of this layout long ago in MR. I thought to myself “this guy’s a massive rivet counter, I can’t make that much difference “. My sincerest apology. It makes a huge difference. Very nicely done.
Dear Tony, My great grandfather, Walter Ross, was President of the NPR, back in the day. It warms my heart to see the Road so beautifully memorialized in such a way. Having grown up in Ohio, it also captures a bit of life in the late ‘40s/early ‘50s in rural Parts of the state. I was born in Toledo. When I was very young, my dad would take my brother and me to visit the New York Central marshaling yard to watch the “puffer bellies,” as he called the steam locomotives being shifted to switching duties as the diesel electric locomotives were coming on line. Now, I don’t know if it really is ,ironic, but i-r-o-n-i-c-a-l-l-y I met my future wife as she stepped off the New York Central 20th Century Limited at Lasalle Street Station in Chicago, Illinois in April of 1966. We married several sweet seasons later in November of 1971. Kind regards, Stephen A. Blair
"Down by the station, early in the morning, See the little puffer bellies, all in a row." Surprised to learn that this was co-written by a great jazz pianist, Slim Gaillard, in 1948. I heard it when I was a child.

But I would so love to see this gentleman's gorgeous railroad because it represents a once class act famous mainline railroad.

OK, the video was sent to you. Because I know it is an immovable 'shelf' layout, anchored to walls. I remember his live presentation of how he was building this- over 15 years ago? So I tried a shelf layout for the first time, and it is all still in operation! Tony K has been into HO modeling for over 50 years I know of, so I expect his layout to be nothing but perfect!

I know this is probably minor to most, but I really appreciate this modeler's period accurate motor vehicles. I typically don't like cars on layouts because they look toyish, out-of-place and/or incorrect for the period, but he/she does a great job and it's very tasteful. Beautiful layout
Greetings Patrick, I do have 3 brass NKP 4-6-4 hudsons available as follows: (1) ProPaint/DCC/Sound/Smoke Deflectors-$675.00, (2) Custom Painted/Smoke Deflectors/DC-$225.00, (3) Custom Painted/No Smoke Deflectors/DC-$200.00. You can reach me at forrest@nacesvideography.com
Loved the sounds as the wheels crossed over gaps in the track, very realistic👍🏼 only nit I’m gonna pick is Steam and Smoke would put this display over the top!!! Beautiful
Hi Joe, yes, the wheel "click - clack" sounds are from actual train recordings I have in my audio library to use for these programs, many of which I recorded myself. Funny you should mention "steam & smoke", as I will be doing a little of this in Ted Pamperin's C&O program for Volume 3, using Broadway Limited Brass Hybrid C&O 4-8-4's. The issues though with the smoke are (A) the air has to be perfectly still or the smoke gets "blown" around unrealistically, (B) the smoke units have to be set to almost maximum output to achieve realism (in my opinion) which then also need refilled about every 5-8 minutes or so, and (C) after running even just 1 train smoking for more than 10 minutes we had a "haze" throughout the entire 20' x 30' room. So, while like you I enjoy the smoke effects from Broadway, MTH, and others, to do it for the entire program is really not an option, but for a few train sequences I look forward to everyone seeing what I was able to accomplish, as to me they look extremely realistic.

Incredible layout. I love the water effect downstream of the piers for the railroad bridge...the ripples. Amazing...everything!
Très chouette les locos et les voitures et belle mise en valeur du pont . So beautiful
Outstanding use of actual railroad sounds perfectly synchronized to the layout action in the video. It added greatly to the realism of the models..
Not into model railways or even railways. However I was very impressed at the level of detail that went into this layout.
Nice to see 587 and 624 in here. Absolutely gorgeous layout.

Camera movement and angles are superb ! Scenery is as realistic as you can get, fantastic !
The rust on the gravel next to the rails and ties is just great detailing - it's the little things that make this layout sweet.

50 years or older? That's no problem! Just "buy back" your childhood, perhaps with used trains? Have a look at www.pilentum.de/pilentum-ebay.htm
Thanks for a fantastic video ! Finally someone gets the volume just right. Far too many videos ruined by excessive volume IMHO.
The sky line is magnificent....as well as the train layout
Super PILENTUM!!!! 👍👍👍👍😁👌

Impressive. 👍
