It's hard to catch on in the NFL when you've been around for a while and haven't been able to crack a roster and the CFL isn't the greatest resume in the world. Still, Warren Moon did it and I love this guys mobility and control in the pocket, seems to me he's a better prospect than a lot of guys with contracts.
The top CFL players are pretty high Caliber. One of the best CFL Linebackers Alex Singleton went to the Eagles in 2018 and ended up being the Captain on Defense and lead the team in tackles. Cam Wake was another recent player. Not all CFL players are NFL caliber but there are many at the very top that are. Strev was on that tier so he could be one

Not to insult his talents, but a lot of QB's have looked good in preseason against vanilla defenses and teams not game-plaining specifically for them. In any case, his athleticism would bring and awesome wrinkle to the offense and some added stress on defenses.
