@Celia And Favour You have the details, but your angle is skewed. It was inhumane. It was gory. It was darkness. The death of Christ on the cross was a terrible event, but who put him there? I have always noticed that when Jesus does a mioracle like this, he does it full-out. Because not only did He turn the water into wine, but He turned it into the finest wine the guests ever had. Also, the turning of water into wine was a foreshadowing of the Last Supper when He would take the cup of wine and tell His disciples "Take and drink, for this is my blood."
It has been suggested this is symbolic: Jesus turned the Purification Water (used by Jews to purify themselves) into Wine ("blood of the new covenant") which is drunk by Christians to affirm their salvation through Jesus' sacrifice. Remember, this wedding happened "On the third day" (John 2:1).
I never really understood the utter magnitude of this miracle until the moment of this scene. It equals every other wonderful and beautiful scene in the whole series.

Think about this. 6 earthen vessels for purification. Man was created on the 6th day. Through the blood of Jesus we are purified of our sins and made clean. We are 60-70% water. Jesus turns water into wine. In Acts 2 the Holy Spirit came upon the apostles and all whom were in the upper room. People thought they were drunk on wine. They were filled with the Holy Spirit. In Mark 2:22 Jesus teaches that you can't put new wine in old wine skins or the skins burst. Jesus makes us new again. Born again. In Psalm 23 David wrote how the Lord fills his cup to over flowing. Jesus talks about giving us life giving water. The Holy Spirit. I was reading John last week and this jumped out at me and I thought about this scene and how Dallas Jenkins and cast portrayed this scene and God gave me a deep understanding of this. The Holy Spirit gives us new wine, heaven's wine and fills us to overflowing. Praise God for always working, always teaching us through the life of his Son. Our Lord Jesus. God bless you brother.
Very good points. Also, Jesus Christ was prefiguring his ultimate miracle of turning wine into his true blood at every Catholic mass throughout time until the end. Jesus Christ transports us to the foot of the cross when he consecrates the host of bread and wine into his true body and blood.
yes! a very intimate moment, demonstrating the intimate connection of the Father and Son and the Holy Spirit. The Trinity is revealed in the person and work of Jesus Christ, who has seen the father and revealed him in his work to the world. Also by Jesus providing the wine demonstrates his sanctifying approval of the wedding that he was attending as God incarnate.
Never really thought about the deep significance of Jesus' first miracle. When Jesus squeezed the wine in his fist, I definitely saw in His eyes a bit of sadness. His blood would be poured out, red as wine. Jesus' first miracle was foreshadowing His sacrifice.
I was so blessed by this as Thaddeus is explaining that about cutting stone, etc, gave me an opportunity to answer questions about WHY and what was significant about this scene :) Truly the blessings keep coming in from this show! God bless you!
Think of it.......to drink the wine that Jesus ran His hand through. My eyes are stinging! One day soon will see Him and adore and worship Him in person!
Born again and overflowing with the Holy Spirit. When Jesus says, eat His flesh and drink HIs blood. Born again means.. in Christ image bearing His (GOD's) mark.
There's a very old tradition that links the Wedding Feast at Cana to the Last Supper -- just as He changed water to wine and offered up the gift of Himself in that miracle, so He changed wine into His blood and offered Himself up on the cross for us. So the shot of Jesus reflected in the jars is just so very powerful for me because of that.
Oh how He loves us! Isn't that what He does for us? He gives far beyond measure and so far beyond what we deserve. Thank you, Jesus! May I follow you always, in Your Name!

This scene was truly amazing the connection between our Savior and the Father and his will for his ministry. And our connection to him and his will for our lives. Once you encounter Jesus Christ everything changes, You can never go back, and your life will never be the same. God bless you
His first miracle, changing water to wine. On the cross, He sipped sour wine from the sponge on the branch of hyssop, then said, “It is finished!”. The symbolism is so powerful!
It's the moments that he goes above and beyond to comfort every heart that doesn't understand the whole of His moves!! " Just for a moment Thomas" ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Love it! What God given talent everyone involved has. Thomas's reactions to Jesus are so good. Just his movements and facial expressions are enough...no lines needed.
I watched the chosen live stream of this episode. There is so much detail packed into this scene, Thaddeus' voice-over about cutting stone, Jesus' reflection in the water, the off-stage laughter of the servants, the father of the bride who is transformed, Mary and Jesus exchanging looks while she mouths thank you. We are also introduced to Thomas, a person who pays attention to detail, much like Matthew but in a different way. I paid it forward and am looking forward to season 2.
This series made me fall even more in love with Jesus❤ I have never seen this side of him. Now I can't get enough of him. I can't wait for the next series!!
Purely loved the background symbolism dialogue delivered by Thaddaeus during the miracle scene performed by Jesus. It just lifts the scene to a whole new level and explains the significance of this miracle in a very very different way. Just brilliant way of presenting. Loved the series :) This Chosen team are surely doing something different and making us to get used to different.
Whenever The Chosen in on in our house. The Holy Spirit fills the room. Every time. I have always believed in Jesus Christ it's wonderful to see him. I can't wait to be with him.
Love this scene! Love Dallas's expertise in shooting each scene from such angles paying close attention to every detail. Love Jesus' reflection in the water and the part in the end where he puts his hand into a gallon of water but pulls out a hand full of wine... And who could play Jesus better? That humbleness and gentleness in his tone, compassion, empathy and serenity in his facial expression...Wow... Seriously an actor made for this role!!!!!! Now each time I think of Jesus or pray to Him, I only picture Jonathan Roumie!
When that Master of Ceremony said the blessing...I was keenly aware that only about three people knew that prayer was for Jesus...😳WOW!!! How amazing Our Lord is!!!😁🥰🍷
Dallas this scene is a masterpiece well done sir, well done. This scene gives me chills & the Holy Spirit just rises up in me in celebration, I’m just in awe of how God shows his love by providing exceedingly abundantly more than we ask for.
We are but clay pots in the hands of the Lord...do we hinder His artistry or let go and let Him mould us into His perfect creations? Blessed be the Lord!
Such a great scene. I love the insight into the first miracle setting the course of Jesus' life irrevocably, and also how this miraculous wine changed not only the character of the feast, but of the guests themselves.
His blessing is so similar to the beginning of the offertory prayer at Mass: "Blessed are you Lord, God of all creation, for through your goodness we have this wine we offer you ..."
Thaddeus explaining the process of conversion after being redeemed one goes the long process of transformation that once begun never stops. I loved this entiire episode of the wedding of cana.

Abner almost gave himself whiplash when the Master of the Banquet announced the best wine he’d ever tasted! 😁 And Rafi was hilarious with his nervous looks. The wine even convicts Abner of his attitude. This was a very beautiful scene of Jesus performing His first public miracle. Loved the wordless exchange between mother and son afterward. Can’t wait till you do a vlog going over every detail! #BingeJesus!! ✝️❤️🐠🐠🐠
I'm watching Season 1 for a second time in a row and I just noticed how Thomas hesitated to leave the room when Jesus told everyone to get out. He just has to see it for himself! That's why he was hesitant to leave the room!
I know this may come across as a bit off topic considering the scene, but is anyone else in love with the aesthetics of the show? Every time I watch this scene and the scene where Jesus is talking to Eden in her kitchen, I always think, "Man I would love to have a house that looked like that!". There's just something about the ambiance that is created in those scenes. From the clothing, to the design of the houses...even the gentle flickering of the candlelight. It seems so peaceful and inviting.
There is something so touching and beautiful how Mary looks for her Son after the miracle-the smile on her face, mouthing the words, thank you and Jesus simply smiling at her.
I like the "I am ready" because it signified that He was ready for the clock to start and His path to be laid out. He knew His timing. The miracle was not for the sake of turning water into wine in this interpretation but for the people to honor GOD.
I never understood this miracle and why Christ would have chosen to do this, just honoring and obeying his mother made no sense. But the way this story is told, the embarrassment his friends, his mother's friends would have suffered, and the timing of beginning his ministry just finally makes sense of the whole thing! Especially with Thaddeus talking about cutting into stone and how that ties in. Thank you! I loved this episode! And I didn't realize the caterer was Thomas, the apostle, until Jesus named him, so that was such a lovely shock and really made it even better!!
Thomas being the caterer is more of a cinematic license than a historically true fact, but personally its ok.. i loved how the producers developed characters...
amazing scene. He always prayed to his Father. he always gave praise. and he turned the water to wine in such a way that the host would not be embarresed...so loving! this miracle would be the one that started his ministry!!
never seen so many comments on anything! A truly marvelous scene that I have not been able to get out of my mind all day. Such an insightful rendition. Very well done. Amazing.
The background score is just heavenly!! So Pure!!!! Even the minute details in the music were just amazing! Huge credits to the music team too, loved it!!!
Fantastic co-reading by the disciple about the stone being readied for the purpose it was designed for while King Jesus is being readied to be made the Capstone as He is ready to commence with the first miracle publicly. The ending of the scene with the bride's father, Abner, bringing himself to humility was superbly done. Bravo. Outstanding writing and directing brothers...... No condemnation to the 3 dislikes but I ask: are your ears deaf to the script? I truly have a concern in the Spirit over you.
I could not thank u more, for the wonderful episodes you are showing us. Lots of subtle and important characteristics of Jesus that are written in Bible ,yet we ignore them most of the times. But you have taken a very good care to show us, how to lead a life that mirrors Christ in us.DIVINE yet CARING, ALL POWERFUL yet LONGSUFFERING HOLY yet APPROACHABLE.This is our Lord and He is LOVE.
I LOVE this scene. And what makes it so precious at the end is when his mother gives her son such a grateful look and mouths 'Thank you.' Then Jesus gives her a slight but sweet return smile and an almost imperceptible nod back in acknowledgment. So many unspoken words across a crowded room.
One thing I want is a show about Biblical stories that can make them visual so we are reminded that these are real people with thoughts and feelings and mistakes. Like I want to see Ruth marrying Boaz, David’s relationship with Jonathan, and even the lesser known stories like Obadiah and the prophets. Sometimes we read these stories but don’t connect and the chosen was a beautiful way to connect and remind us they’re real.
Lots of thanks😊😊😊 Jesus is Jesus.... whatever angle we see Him ♥️♥️♥️ I'm extremely happy that every time u guys(making films out of the life of Jesus) are making a special version of Him... It's purely the divine grace✝️ Praying for this effort of your whole crew will turn many to God and His love... May the videos touch lot of people who are in dark, and bring them into the true light💐 May God bless you 💐💐
I have seen this episode several times, but the phrase "I'm ready, Father" keeps transporting me to the Passion movie, where Jesus says "My heart is ready, Father" right before the soldiers start to flog him...
I love this scene and the sublime voice over of Nathanael's description of masonry as Jesus performs the water-to-wine miracle. Chills every time I watch it.
I'm more visual and so it wasn't until the 3rd viewing that I even noticed the voice over, and thank you now for explaining the significance of it as I hadn't connected the dots yet. Your writing team seems to be in "the zone" throughout this project! I've always loved the way you've used lighting, Dallas, and this time no less, as we can tell it's wine when Jesus lifts his hand because of the beautiful lighting. I love the plausible backstory, too. So real life, and how lovely for the underdogs to be raised in esteem in the light of Jesus' humility, while we know it's all for God's magnificent glory reflected in each one of us using our gifts, as each participant in The Chosen is doing. PS Just got my "different" T-shirt in the mail today. More "reflecting" tomorrow. Woo-Hoo!
What gets me is how Jesus can care about the reputation of this family's wedding even though it would seem extremely trivial in comparison to how the same miracle was bringing him closer to the terrible suffering of the cross as well as launching him into public ministry...it taught me to care about the little things and the heavy things people go through, not to trivialize their smallest concerns in people's lives because Jesus does not. Thanks "The Chosen" team for the wonderfully fresh and deep way in which you are bringing the Gospels to life. May the Holy Spirit continue to guide you and God bless you!
After the first season of this show, I was convinced. I finally understood the message. The Chosen showed me Jesus Christ in a way I had never experienced or expected. The way His words brought me to tears, how they hit every fiber of me, it just changed my perspective. "Why am I crying with this?", I thought the first time. By the third time I could not stop watching. I'm proud to say I am studying the Bible and I want to be a good Christian. Thank you.

The Holy Spirit gives us new wine, heaven's wine and fills us to overflowing.
Praise God for always working, always teaching us through the life of his Son. Our Lord Jesus.
God bless you brother.
@@coolHandLuke830 Wow, God is good! Praise Jesus! May God bless you as well.
Very good points. Also, Jesus Christ was prefiguring his ultimate miracle of turning wine into his true blood at every Catholic mass throughout time until the end.
Jesus Christ transports us to the foot of the cross when he consecrates the host of bread and wine into his true body and blood.
@@leviatkins453 I'm not sure what you mean by that but I think I'd disagree with you.
This series has really touched me to a spiritual level like no other.
The way Jesus and his Mother look at each other at the end..💕
He really connected to god in this part and how he changed humility to glory...amazing
@NAATH KABOOTREE jesus was ready to start his miracles and He connected to his father..full on
@NAATH KABOOTREE the holy spirit is the connection..and the holy spirit guide us..THE FATHER...THE SON...AND HOLY SPIRIT..bless u..
yes! a very intimate moment, demonstrating the intimate connection of the Father and Son and the Holy Spirit. The Trinity is revealed in the person and work of Jesus Christ, who has seen the father and revealed him in his work to the world. Also by Jesus providing the wine demonstrates his sanctifying approval of the wedding that he was attending as God incarnate.
*God🙏
Never really thought about the deep significance of Jesus' first miracle. When Jesus squeezed the wine in his fist, I definitely saw in His eyes a bit of sadness. His blood would be poured out, red as wine. Jesus' first miracle was foreshadowing His sacrifice.
With and through Jesus, you get nothing but the BEST.
Always!
it had never occurred to me how Jesus had processed this moment.
Thomas had the look of "What...just happened?!?" Priceless! 💙😊✝️
Powder you can see him in person everyday in the Eucharist, he is always with us!
Yes brother, and I will give you a cup of that same wine. Glory be to the Lord Jesus!!!!
God is love my dearest friend Christine Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal
How are you doing Christine?
This is by far the best rendition of the Christ story and truly touched by the hand of God! May the future remain as blessed.
Jesus is king and God is good. God bless you all Amen 🙏🏽.
This scene was truly amazing the connection between our Savior and the Father and his will for his ministry. And our connection to him and his will for our lives. Once you encounter Jesus Christ everything changes, You can never go back, and your life will never be the same. God bless you
Amen. My life will never be the same. Thank you, Lord!
His first miracle, changing water to wine. On the cross, He sipped sour wine from the sponge on the branch of hyssop, then said, “It is finished!”. The symbolism is so powerful!
that last scene with mother Mary gets me every time...love this show!
I am so humbled and grateful, You died for us Lord that we shall have life. Glory to God in the highest and peace to his people on earth. Amen
Always a tear jerker.
I watched it again to see wonderful mamma -jesus non verbal exchange of love I have no words to describe it ! Love it Binge Jesus!
It's the moments that he goes above and beyond to comfort every heart that doesn't understand the whole of His moves!! " Just for a moment Thomas" ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Wow i couldn't watch this seen over and over , the look of mother and son YESHUA our Lord Thank you lord. Thank you GOD
Love it! What God given talent everyone involved has.
Thomas's reactions to Jesus are so good. Just his movements and facial expressions are enough...no lines needed.
Jesus truly is the Christ and died for each and every one of us! God is so good!
God is so good guys, he will always help without fail bc he loves you, trust and keep praying with faith, he's got you❤
Purely loved the background symbolism dialogue delivered by Thaddaeus during the miracle scene performed by Jesus. It just lifts the scene to a whole new level and explains the significance of this miracle in a very very different way. Just brilliant way of presenting. Loved the series :) This Chosen team are surely doing something different and making us to get used to different.
Amen praise God and Jesus love yall and thanks for everything you do for me Amen
Thank you Dallas for showing us more of the beauty of our Savior through this awesome series! We are changed by beholding!
How amazing Our Lord is!!!😁🥰🍷
The wine prayer of thanks, especially as she utters, “who brings forth the fruit of the vine”. Amazingly thoughtful writing and acting.
The beauty of the scene is the unspoken communication between mother and son. Her understanding of who He is and that His time has come.
Blessed be the Lord!
such a powerful & touching scene. And when Jesus caught his mom's eye as she looked around the room, wow, that was sweet mother/son love!
❤️💜
That "Thank you" in the end. Always gets me💙
It’s God’s power not ours, this amazes me every time I watch it ❤️❤️❤️
Such a great scene. I love the insight into the first miracle setting the course of Jesus' life irrevocably, and also how this miraculous wine changed not only the character of the feast, but of the guests themselves.
I love this!!!! God, please make Season two happen, if it's your will. ❤❤❤😍😍😍
It’s happening!!
Praise The LORD Hallelujah 🙏🙏🙏Amen Amen Amen 🙏🙏🙏😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
His blessing is so similar to the beginning of the offertory prayer at Mass: "Blessed are you Lord, God of all creation, for through your goodness we have this wine we offer you ..."
This series will change the universe. I am beyond blessed to have found it.
What an amazing decision he had to make when he did this. It all started with this. Thank you Jesus!
The most important things in my life it’s my lovely Lord Jesus forever💙🕊🙏
Thaddeus explaining the process of conversion after being redeemed one goes the long process of transformation that once begun never stops. I loved this entiire episode of the wedding of cana.
breath taking moments when Jesus stood there and changed the water in to wine.... God has really blessed this chosen and that's why it's come out wonderful.... blessed be the name of the Lord and he is forever let's us all honour him and glorify him.. praise be too Jesus.. hats off to the chosen team. Amen
Which movie
I know this may come across as a bit off topic considering the scene, but is anyone else in love with the aesthetics of the show?
Every time I watch this scene and the scene where Jesus is talking to Eden in her kitchen, I always think, "Man I would love to have a house that looked like that!". There's just something about the ambiance that is created in those scenes. From the clothing, to the design of the houses...even the gentle flickering of the candlelight.
It seems so peaceful and inviting.
I agree. The Chosen is very well made.
God has blessed every aspect of The Chosen. It is beautifully produced from the lighting, to the wardrobes, the casting, etc.
All Praise and Glory be to our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ 🙏 Amen
The Spirit behind the writing, acting, filming, is indescribable. Life changing.
There is something so touching and beautiful how Mary looks for her Son after the miracle-the smile on her face, mouthing the words, thank you and Jesus simply smiling at her.
Every single selected scene from this glorious series is guaranteed to bring tears to the eyes.
God bless 🙏
Our God is an AWESOME GOD. How do you not cry watching The Chosen.
Thanks for commenting jwd, we appreciate your support.
If Jesus didn't honor and obey His mother He would be disobeying the scriptures which say to honor thy mother and thy father
Blessed be your name, Jesus! Amendola
So moving understanding what this meant. Thank you Lord. 🙏🙌
Beautiful analogy! The water "saw" or mirrored Jesus, and it became gut wine!
Jesus I love u I will always believe in u father ❤️❤️🙌🏻🙌🏻
By far my favorite scene
❤️❤️😍😍😍😍😍
One thing I want is a show about Biblical stories that can make them visual so we are reminded that these are real people with thoughts and feelings and mistakes. Like I want to see Ruth marrying Boaz, David’s relationship with Jonathan, and even the lesser known stories like Obadiah and the prophets. Sometimes we read these stories but don’t connect and the chosen was a beautiful way to connect and remind us they’re real.
Lots of thanks😊😊😊
Jesus is Jesus.... whatever angle we see Him ♥️♥️♥️
I'm extremely happy that every time u guys(making films out of the life of Jesus) are making a special version of Him... Congratulations 🤞
It's really the power of God which helps us to understand Jesus and His love 💕
Portraying Him is really a great thing!!! U have done it perfectly!!! It's purely the divine grace✝️
Praying for this effort of your whole crew will turn many to God and His love... May the videos touch lot of people who are in dark, and bring them into the true light💐
May God bless you 💐💐
Jonathan is perfect! So beautifully portrayed and believable. 💯❤️💯
Soooo blessed by The Chosen.
You just have to concentrate !
"Woman it is not yet my time!"
Blessed !
This was one of the most profoundly and beautiful scenes. What a miracle. I'm sure enjoying The Chosen series.
Woo-Hoo!
To read, to know and love the Bible and now to see it come to life. . .purely spectacular. What's next? Indeed many more seasons to "The Chosen".
sob sob, beyond beautiful. thank you for reminding me of my love for the Jesus of History. Hats off to the producers!
I love this amazing series. Always bring tears of joy to my heart. Beautiful.
So beautiful and touching very well done Dallas
After the first season of this show, I was convinced. I finally understood the message. The Chosen showed me Jesus Christ in a way I had never experienced or expected. The way His words brought me to tears, how they hit every fiber of me, it just changed my perspective. "Why am I crying with this?", I thought the first time. By the third time I could not stop watching. I'm proud to say I am studying the Bible and I want to be a good Christian. Thank you.
We love hearing how The Chosen strengthened your faith.
Praise the lord amen😢👏👏👏
Amazing creation..i just love it...
Amazing bgm.....
Tears clogged in corner of my eyes in seeeing every miracle
This scene, for me, is the most precious one in the whole of season 1. :)
Jesus is the answer to everything 🙏 always and forever
