    This was a wonderful interview, and you two did a great job interviewing. Often, it seems, in interviews, the hosts feel the need to constantly interject to show off their own knowledge. I appreciate that you allowed your guest to tell her story and expand on what she said. Great job!

    Loved the video. Couldn’t agree more, thank goodness for quilting and also cross stitching during these Covid lockdowns. Don’t know what I would have done without them and these podcasts/TH-cam. Loved hearing Vanessa’s story ❤️😁❤️😁❤️

    Love Vanessa and her talent so very much! She was one of my very first designers I began following and collecting when I first began quilting. I have already went to her shop and ordered using her lovely gracious discount!!! Thanks sew much! Great interview ladies. It was easy to see you three enjoy and appreciate each other 😍😘

    It was great to learn about Vanessa Goertzen of Lella Boutique today. I have some of her Folktale fabric, which I received in a Fat Quarter Shop Quilt Sampler Box, plus a bit more I bought afterwards. Thank you!

    What an amazing lady. I just love women who are not afraid to tackle home projects. Her mom sounds like a terrific lady also. I think the Christmas line is just marvelous.

    A very interesting and inspiring interview. I actually have a scrap bag quilt I’ve been slowly working on this past year. It is to keep so other projects delay it. I choose the bag as I could see a beautiful pale blue fabric cover in bees through the window and had to have it. I was so happy to discover the rest of the fabrics were gorgeous too. Garden variety is such a beautifully designed and a happy range of fabrics.

    I really love hearing about people’s stories and if they include any kind of influence from a family member, even better if it’s a mother, it makes it all the better. Love the new collection and your stories about the sunflower quilt.

    Loved the podcast episode especially today. Delightful interview. Your talk of "balance" (an important part of which is setting a boundary by using "no") reminds me of what in the monastic world is called a Rule of Life. It really means establishing guideposts to live by: your balance, your priorities and then endeavoring to live in that way. For example, having fun (like Vanessa's vacation during the summer) might be established as something of value. Just a thought. Anyway, love the fabric, love the patterns and loved hearing about Vanessa's journey.

    When I recently started quilting again it was because I saw the Folktales line and patterns! Scarfed both of them up with lots of additional yardage and patterns. Stephanie Smith.

    Amazing episode ladies, i am obsessed as well with folktale, as a result of Chelsea’s tree design pattern with folktale. I am going to start that quilt this week actually. First Chelsea’s pattern and my background arrived and then the rest of folktale arrived a few weeks ago....so enjoyed hearing the background stories. Have a great week....

  • @sandrafulton4351

    Oh how I wish you would reposition the camera a little closer as it once was (and wants to be again). I keep wondering why watching is so hard on my eyes - ok, they are almost 72 years old and they have had cataracts (now repaired). Maybe the camera is set to wide angle or something...... The result of your new setting is that I am now relegated to listening rather than watching. Love watching you guys, have been purchasing your patterns and your fabric, no not just a watcher :) So enjoy your TH-cam videos.

    I would have like to know how she came up with the name Lella Boutique. Is it her mother’s name?

    • @vanessagoertzen4579
      @vanessagoertzen4579 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It was how I pronounced Cinderella when I was a toddler. I had a 'lella dress I thought was so magical. I found myself thinking a lot about the magic of my childhood and how I'd like to incorporate that into my creations so that dress became the symbol for that.

    Loves the podcast this week. However Ladies please get rid of the horrible ugly big and black microphones. It seriously distracts from the beautiful quilts and your beautiful faces.

    • @sherrimcconnell4094
      @sherrimcconnell4094 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I'm so sorry they are distracting. But they are truly necessary for the sound quality we are blessed to have. A lot of listeners don't view on TH-cam and are really dependent on sound quality. Thank you so much for watching and expressing your concerns.

    LOVED hearing Vanessa's stories. So boring to hear the same responses from the interviewers - over and over .. . "yeah, yeah - - - oh yeah, I love that, yeah, oh yeah" - - -especially the mom. At least the daughter had some real conversation. And to have the guest up against a wall is so uncomfortable for her but also for the viewers - no one ever looks at us - - - so stiff and boring. Phew - glad that's over.
