Your channel is pure entertainment. Easy and enjoyable to watch, and i’d be surprised if it doesn’t continue to grow with this type of content. Like i saw some one say already you’ve found your brand in the knife community , its natural and refreshing.
I did look at that knife often and think about it a lot. But in the end, I did buy a number 3 blade from mora and gave it a nice long custom handle from cherry wood. It does not weigh a lot, is well balanced when gripping it traditionally, is very slicy, carves bigger stuff well, reverse grips well for plucking some greenery single handed, does nicely at light chopping and has a nice long straight cutting edge section that is good for light batoning when crafting stuff.
I'm appreciating your current higher rate of video production, i hope you keep it up! That audio cut at 6:20 almost blew my eardrums out though! R.I.P headphone users. Please don't do that if it's on purpose, it's not fun!
Mora’s AllRound series comes in ~8”, 6”, 4” variants, some stainless, some carbon. They’ve got my favorite Mora handle shape, nice thin blade stock, and the sheathes are Ok. The 8” and 4” SS are really good in the kitchen, and the 6” in carbon is excellent in the yard and woods.
I have the morakniv 748MG Allround 6", now discontinued. It's a little awkward in balance with the long blade. I love the full fat handle, and the sheath that's similar to the Mora2000 with a leather dangler. I use it like a pull blade sometimes, but it's pretty limited in its usefulness being so long and skinny. It's good for food prep and butchering, but it's understandable why they discontinued it.
@@MB-jg4tr dang, I didn’t know they were discontinued, but I guess I’m not surprised. I’m glad I got my three Allrounds when I did. 4” in my go bag, 6” in the tool bag, and 8” in the kitchen. For bushcraft and such, I have a few Companions, but they just can’t snap cut like the 6” Allround.
Love the Bushcraft Black but never felt compelled to buy the Pathfinder. If I am going to buy a knife with a 6” blade it’s going to have a full tang. I think you are spot on that it is inspired by the Old Hickory 7” butcher knives. Dave Cantebury loves those things, or he used to anyway.
I have one of the Pathfinder Knives. I like mine a lot! The sheath works well for me, i just used a Zip tie to secure the strap to the rivets and it created a perfectly fine dangler sheath. I like it because i was looking for exactly what you said, a long Mora thats better at splitting and cooking! :D
My favorite mora is still the companion HD. Super cheap. Decent steel. The only thing it doesnt have is a 90 degree spine for striking sparks, which 1 minute with a file will fix. Or just use a ferro rod striker.
I loved the part where the music came in when you started comparing different knives, and it was so loud you couldn't hear your voice. Then suddenly drops off. 😂
@@CedricAda no problem lol. I figured it was an editing mistake. At least it wasn't as bad as the cody ko video where like half of it was just music playing instead of the normal audio.
Yeah, this knife isn’t for me. But in order to shoot the sheath a little bail. At least they put grommets in each corner. Which means you can easily create a belt loop and dangler with Paracord or any piece of line. Bottom grommets to tie down to leg, or pack. Shout Joe X! Great Video, thanks.
I don't have any Moras right now. If I get one, I think it'll be the Kansbol or one of the small classics 01 or 02. Great review - looking forward to the next.
The Kansbol is really nice as a camp knife. The thin front is good for cutting food and skinning and the full scandi bottom 2/3 is good for wood carving and stuff. I think it has the best handle of all the Moras, in that it is the shape of the Garberg with added rubberized areas. I wish they made it in the 14C28N steel instead of the 12C27.
Look into the Mora2000, the precursor of the kansbol. The handle is much better. The blade is almost exactly the same only it has a mirror finish and rounded spine. It's much more comfortable to use. And I like the basic sheath more which has a leather dangler riveted onto it. It's a little less expensive also. Best camp knife I've ever found.
I like the look of that sheath. I would add a velcro loop about 3 inches down from the top and add a couple snaps at the mid and bottom to secure the molle strap. Yes, it has problems as-is, but it looks to be very easy to modify.
Fyi: Set feedsack on ground with double stitch facing toward you Reach over to side facing away from you (should be single stitch) Grab thread at left end of single stitch side, pull. Bag now open, and you have string.
I have the bushcraft Grey in stainless. I live in a very humid area so its a good compromise from the Black in carbon. Its a great knife but the sheath sucks. Comes with a very slight hollow grind strangely.
The holes at the bottom of the knife sheath is useful for blowing air to the fire to, not only for remove water. Just blow thro the opening to the fire.
Just a little campfire cooking tip, it's way better to let the fire burn down to coals and cook over that instead of open flames. Much much more control and even heat.
I also really like the Mora Classic, particularly the Classic Nr 2 & Nr 3. I think they are very often overlooked. Such great work knives around the house and yard work. And can even handle some bushcraft tasks, for being rat tail knives. But I guess there is a reason why they have stuck around for almost 100 years. I Highly recommend picking one up, as they are well worth the $20-30 cost.
After hard using mine for a while I can conform it's amazing wood prep and still a decent food slicer and cuts meat well. Sucks that the sheath is garbage lol

Recently got a 511 and wacked a few low branches that would've grown out to make it difficult to mow. Fairly impressed. By the way, I got a Neutron 2 on the recent TRM drop, but I got the flat scales. Can you compare your TRM Atom's flats to your Neutron 2's 3d scales with some close ups? Might convince me to pick up some micarta 3d scales later down the line
@@LosRiji I think he mentioned in his videos the 3d ones are a bit thicker to begin with, so unless I cut my own scales, might end up with a handle thats a little too thin
They changed the tang design inside the handle and for some.reason, they made it way worse than it used be. They not only added so many failure points, with all these notches and corners, but they also removed a lot of steel, just to make it weaker where it already suffered.
I always thought that looked shit. Never wanted one. My favourite Mora are the little San Mai wood carvers. Less than £20 a pop in the UK. I do fancy an Elvis though. (I know it's really Eldris but it'll always be the Elvis to me.)

Is there a MagnaCum version?
Dave Canterbury had an issue with stolen valor, claiming military experience he didn't have... he has since 'retooled' his schtick.
I always ask myself, how did that happened
Would have been a perfect cut into Dave's video about pulling your ass cheeks apart so you don't need to wipe.
Good review as always. I'm curious about the kansbol from Mora. Never got much internet love
Skip the Kansbol, go for the precursor the Mora2000, much better handle, blade is nearly identical but with a mirrored finish and rounded spine. Best in camp knife I've ever found.
Going to miss Joe X.
Buy a dremel, DIY
@@LosRiji I think he mentioned in his videos the 3d ones are a bit thicker to begin with, so unless I cut my own scales, might end up with a handle thats a little too thin
They changed the tang design inside the handle and for some.reason, they made it way worse than it used be. They not only added so many failure points, with all these notches and corners, but they also removed a lot of steel, just to make it weaker where it already suffered.
That Xenoblade 2 music in your intro!!!!
Such a great knife
We're gonna need a bigger rubbish bin 😮
🤣 guess i'm not the only one who's asked myself what i would do if i happened across Joe in the wilderness
wow, sharp to cut a water jug
One of the most popular knives in the world.
That knife reminded me of the Benchmade Leuku.
it looks 2x as big in your hands compared to mine ,how short are you
I always thought that looked shit. Never wanted one. My favourite Mora are the little San Mai wood carvers. Less than £20 a pop in the UK. I do fancy an Elvis though. (I know it's really Eldris but it'll always be the Elvis to me.)
Just thought you should know . I got a husk add in your vidio . I think they maybe out to get you Pete .
Great into
I always saw it like a modern leuku!
I much prefer cooking over the fire than in my kitchen. What does "gritty" mean?
Cliff stamp was the Nigel and Joe x the Donnie of the knife community!
Mora fine .got a lot of mora's.yes .a lot going for them.
Joe X, pure entertainment!
Good stuff! :D
Almost pick one up.
I think Dave Canterbury got caught exaggerating about his military prowess, ie he didn’t have any.
Always wondered about these
I've had one for 6 years and I think I used it once to carve a roast.
