    Hi ! That's a hunter blade ! It's meant to cut meat/bones actually. That's why you have problemes cutting wood with it. Try a dry wood blade or an universal wood blade.

    I’ve had mine 18 months a guy was selling them on one of the fb bushcraft groups .the blades are totally different to the one on yours proper bowsaw like blades .it rips through wood like butter 12 pounds he was selling them and sold loads with 100% feedback .

    For the money I think you could do better with a Fiskers pruning saw.

    The bag is to keep the blood off the baton shaped, unopened saw...when you beat the people laughing at you to death with it.

    You take the carry bag and put the blade and other rattly things inside of it then put the bag of parts inside the metal tubes and I bet the rattly goes away.

    I mean it cut through a standing oak, for £16 in a form factor which is very easy to pack away that seems pretty reasonable to me. Feels like this was a bit harsh.

    I wonder with some mod a bahco blade would fit? Perhaps two small nuts n bolts on blade. That's if the length is right

    ohmygod, blade looks like not appropriate for cutting. Having tasted various options of saws came to conclusion that folding saw with japanese type blade is the best. I stopped at Samurai FA-240-LH - light, cheap and SUPER efficient

    You got ripped off...That should have come with proper bowsaw blade with course hardened teeth and sawdust clearing teeth in between. Mine works great...Like a knife through butter!

    G’day Dan, I’m smelling a rat with that blade. The lugs for securing each end of the blade look like a ‘manufacturers special’ and not necessarily compatible with other blades in the future?

    Hmmm,mmm not all that is it? But as you say what do you expect for £16.00 🤷🏼‍♂️ it's a neat idea, be interesting to see if you can find a better blade to fit

    Yeah that blade does suck. Just get you another blade and put a nut and a short bolt on either end to help it lock in place Saku little setup but yeah the blade is a joke you definitely want a blade that cuts on the push and the pull

    Send off for a more appropriate outdoor tree branch cutting blade. Crap it might be in this application, but you bought it ie selected it.
    Thanks for sharing.

    Make it a foot or two longer and put a real bahco blade on it and it might be a buy.

      07:24 “For £16, what did I expect”?…….Well……I payed £17 for my Laplander, but….that was in January 2020, today, in Amazon it’s a whopping £33!,😱. Yep, nice one Brexit, I mean, what did anybody expect????😩

    I got one a while ago from military 1st. Mine came with a 10 tpi green blade and a 14 tpi dry blade. All the blades worked ok. I make 24 inch buck saws so wanted to see what was out there for light weight hammock camping. I prefer mine or even making one in the field with para cord

      with a better blade I'd be into this one.. but that blade was so bad!
      I will look for one to fit it as I like everything else about it. shame really.

  • @Linleys
    @Linleys 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hey, that's a good looking saw in principle! But needs a couple of minutes assembly and then what a let-down as it just didn't "cut the mustard" somehow. Was it better pulling or pushing? Like you said, bigger teeth needed maybe? So is the blade "swapable" for one with bigger teeth? Useful heads-up review. Warren

    Glad only your camera suffered last video. Nice to see you doing BUSHCRAFT shelter instead of tent ⛺ camping. Dinner looked edible (just) but that's how I like my pork steaks, lots of flavour. Take care

    G'day Dan, that's a shame mate, the design has potential. But hey, plenty of other decent options as you well know, maybe a folding breadknife, : ) I was going to say you could knock up a timber frame as back up should it fail in the bush, but since the blade is the weakness, there goes that idea. The green handled job you usually use, (I think Gerber branded), is a far better option; what did you pay for that again ? Cheers Duke.

  • @terrym1065
    @terrym1065 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    😒 Well Dan I can see that being a bit of a pain to use with that fine tooth blade. I'm sure you can fit a better blade for camp, outdoor use in that frame. If nothing else, just make a blade fit DIY style. Thanks for the review and video. See you in the camp.

    Got one the same but green handle and big teeth on the blade. It's OK but it doesn't do a huge amount more than a decent folding saw so it doesn't get taken out very often. Been thinking of getting a better one like the thing from Gerber but will do some research first.

    Bought a similar one a few years ago with a better blade that cut much better, I bought a standard blade and used 2 pop rivets to secure into the slots

    • @neoaliphant
      @neoaliphant ปีที่แล้ว

      I had one from somewhere else and the blade it came was was very similar to my bahco blade in my larger bucksaw, it cut through a 4 inch log in almost the same time as my dodgy electric chainsaw, i added a hacksaw blade in the tube as well...
