Barn Fire Aftermath & Updates | How to Help Us Rebuild | Chef Mollie

Sow A Heart Farms suffered a major loss in July when our barn housing all of our essential tools, supplies, and equipment erupted into flames and was ultimately destroyed. This is a devastating loss for us as it not only destroyed vital machinery needed to keep our farm going, but has also dealt a serious blow to the livelihood of all those involved at Sow A Heart.

This farm was built on love. When our farmers moved their family home, they brought a full house. Husband and wife, Chef Mollie Engelhart and Chef Elias Sosa of Vegan LA staples: Sage Plant-based Bistro, Sage Brewery, and Kind Kreme toting in hand their two young children, dozens of beloved family pets, and extended family members and friends.

We came to this farm to build community. Physically, with our home here, but also to grow sustainable food for our restaurants and extended southern California friends, family, and food lovers. We came to practice regenerative agriculture and cultivate new way of thinking of our food. Our farm is open to you for events and celebrations of all kinds.

Hang in there, Mollie. The region will need you when the poop hits the fan. Recuperating, IMHO, seems easier than starting all over. My theory is that the nefarious want to drive you away to get your land... If we all don't make a stand now, later will be impossible. I can chip in but wouldn't want to if you have to bail. A local neighbor
