Hi, thanks for your comment. The OET writing tasks are designed so that if you have selected the relevant information and avoided unnecessary information, the letter should be around 200 words. Make sure you are using official OET practice papers which will reflect the kind of case notes you will receive in the exam most accurately. If you are writing 230 words, it might mean that you have included unnecessary information, included too many details or perhaps not worded the information concisely enough. Ask your self if the reader needs to know everything you have included in order to carry out the care required.

Kindly help me mam.. In many letters, the purpose would be f a particular thing, but many discharge advices not related to that would be there. My question is whether we have to include all those plans or just the purpose related? For eg: Purpose would be assistance related to smoking cessation. But, discharge plan may have like ARRANGE OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST.. I have to include it or not?

There is no "request letter" but you will be required to write requests within each type of letter depending on the purpose.
