San Francisco hotel workers plan May Day march ahead of contract negotiations

  • More than a thousand hotel workers whose union contracts are expiring this summer planned to march in downtown San Francisco on May Day Wednesday. The workers are demanding raises, better healthcare coverage, and improved workloads on their shifts. Shawn Chitnis reports.

    Fast food workers are getting at $20/ hr. Every other workers want more money.

    Better working conditions great but pay. Is that possible in this economy and with air bnb ?
    How does she know there’s a lot of money coming in? Is she in the financial part of it and we just don’t know it outside of her being a waitress ?

    Hotels won’t pay more. All they care about are the higher ups. Doesn’t matter if u worked there for 3 years or 30 I work at a hotel that’s owned by the Marriott in Kansas city and there are people that have worked here since the 80s still making $12 an hour
