I'd heard about it back when it was meta, but I completely forgot Abt it!! Such a neat touch! And I love the Xeno Dawning ornament one, that is one of the funniest things ever imo. 😂 Even the smol bug gets to celebrate the Dawning.

Malfeasance also tries to escape from your hand when you swap to it. It physically pulls away for a split second before your Guardian gets control of it again.

Another detail: When you lock onto someone with Eyes of Tomorrow, the green eyes turn red.

Another Eyes detail: If you use it in Gambit, you can actually see your father figure walking out the door
Speaking of Witherhoard, I wanted to share on more fun fact:
If you reload with Witherhoard, you’ll notice nothing comes out of the gun when you open it. However, if you become empowered or receive some type of glow, you can actually see an invisible shell coming out of Witherhoard that was intended to be invisible
Interesting, but that's different. It's an unintended detail.
Another detail I personally really like: The Heir Apparent actually has a cabal numeral ammo counter just like Skybuner’s Oath!
I always forget that Heir Apparent is a cabal gun until I see the colossuses lugging it around

A few other neat details to me:
Outbreak Perfected's scope will highlight targets that have nanites attached.
Darci and Lord of Wolves use the Auto Rifle reload animation while Bad Juju uses the Scout Rifle reload and Hard Light uses the Pulse Rifle reload.
Sturm has a very unique reload that you'll probably never see since its whole gimmick is to get reloaded by energy weapon/Drang kills.
Borealis has a different firing sound for each element.
The hoses on Coldheart will start to glow and defrost while firing.

Fighting Lion also makes a low Lion-esque growling sound whenever you fire it. It's just typically overshadowed by the explosion and reload sounds so you don't usually recognize it, but it's there c:
loved to use it all the time, it was my "never leave home without it" until that stupid reload nerf 😡😡
Other fun details:
1. The bow string on leviathan’s Breath is a bike chain.
2. The prospector has a cool reload animation.
3. You can see arrows fired by all bows sticking out of enemies.
4. The Wardciff Coil is a reference to the Wardenclyffe tower created by scientist Nicola Tesla.
4. The titan and hunter also have a legendary ornament that pairs with an exotic to make glows. Cloak of Bakris with Mask of Bakris for hunters and Mark of the Falling Star with Cuirass of the Falling Star for titans.
5. Skyburner’s Oath, Heir Apparent, Grand Overture, Legend of Acrius, The Queenbreaker, Lord of Wolves, and Dreg’s Promise are all just usable versions of weapons used by the enemies.
6. Legend of Acrius is a reference to the Greek legend of Icarus.
I may have missed some but that is all I can think of.
Acrius is also an anagram of Icarus

Vex Mythoclast is both a Goblin Slap Rifle, and the rifle Hob Goblins use, now due to its linear fusion style shot
Trophy Hunter is the Psions sniper rifle as well.
A cool fact about deathbringer is whenever you fire the weapon you can see the color from the gun leave, and it makes the same sound of the death song from the mission you get it in! And also in the Quicksilver storm weapon whenever you’re landing consecutive hits, you can actually see the missile on the right hand side of the gun slowly build up until it launches off!
Another detail: on the Parasite GL depending on how high you aim, it shows the height of the curve on the left of the scope
only out to 100m irl velocities that'd be like 300m ish.
The Ahamkaras Spine spine bones also move from time to time when you have them equipped only with the OG form of it without the ornament
Little details like this are some of my favorite in FPS games.
Halo 5’s Idle gun animations are a great example.
someone speaks of halo 5 interesting, it did have some cool idle animations, and unique effects that you could do the guns in forge
I actually never knew about Xenophage's bug ammo, and that hat is hilarious haha
By the way, the sword on Wish Ender also drains as you begin to lose your grip on the arrow and it'll fire when it reaches the sword's tip. Duality is also really cool because the animation that occurs while ADSing draws from its exotic perk name, "Compression Chamber".
Its moreso that Omar is constantly empowering the gun with his light and pure rage
Yeah the gun fires normal non-magical explosive bullets otherwise, but he also propels them harder and/or imbues them with a so-called "pyrotoxin" that makes them deadlier

Maybe do little details in raids, patrol spaces, strikes etc? lots of neat little hidden things on the dreaming city, nessus and even the tower!
Giving tours of all the tower's secrets is one of my favorite things to show newer players
Drifter isn't a bad guy in Gambit. He's just on his own team for gameplay purposes. Trust ;)
GeoMag Stabilizers used to crackle with electricity while you were sprinting to top off the super meter, but it no longer does it at all since the topping off perk was removed. Shame because it looked super cool. I wish Bungie would add the electricity effect to stormcaller anytime Electrostatic Surge was active with increasing effect for stacks of it.
Cerberus+1 also has tiny light indicators on the ADS sight that correspond to the shot pattern as it rotates steadily around.
3:24 it is not actually outlaw it's fire fly that makes u reload faster that's why the fatebringer will sometimes reload really fast. A precision final blow(fire fly explosion) gives you the increase in reload speed
Also, the ace of spades will steam instead of glowing like all the other guns when the player has an attack buff
Some other details: promethium spur boots for warlock light on fire when your dawnblade is charged, transversive steps secretly keeps its crouch walk speed buff from its destiny 1 perk, outbreak has its destiny 1 perk persistence built in (stability and accuracy increases the longer you repeatedly fire without pause).
Persistence perk was debunked recently by a Bungie dev. It's a placebo
All classes have a class item that works with an exotic btw. Hunters works with mask of bakris and titan with falling star chest
ALSO, the Corsair's Wrath has two SWEET animations: 1. A Charge Time Indicator while aiming down sights & 2. An AWESOME\BADASS Initial Charge Up\Ready animation after reloading(an empty mag at least)... If you don't have it & wanna see, let me know & I'll make & link a demo vid...
you do realise every linear fusion rifle has the charge after reload animation

Another detail: like with Celestial Nighthawk, Heart of Inmost Light's cracks will glow when your super's ready.
2:11 Monte Carlo has something similar, is more of a keen sounds that matches the movement of the blade when you draw it or reload it
This was sick, little details are always the best and I’m sure if artist from destiny see this appreciate a video like this
1. On the bow Whispering Slab (I don't know if there are others like that) the arrowhead is different on the model (cone shape) vs when the arrow is shot (kind of triangle shaped).
2. The Ace of Spades ornament Salute to the Colonel has a small chicken instead of the regular hammer.
3. When using Oathkeeper and Wishender, the sword on the figurine shows 25-33% charge, instead of 100%.
As far as #32 goes, each of the classes get a unique effect when the legendary ornament is worn alongside it's namesake exotic. Mantle of Battle Harmony for Warlocks, Mask of Bakris for Hunters, and Curiass of the Falling Star for Titans. It's a shame the effects only seem to apply to the base exotic and not any of the ornaments though.
Bungie either plans to change the effect with the ornaments or they’ve implemented it already
I love the Dawning Ornament for Xeno with the little hat. When I realized it, I was just blown away at the little detail. And no, I didn't know about Dire Promise, which is odd, as its one of my favorite hand cannons, even if its not in a good place right now.
A couple more. Two Tailed Fox actually let’s put a little chuckle when you draw it. Another obvious one is Polaris lance lights up to indicate head shots towards perfect fifth. Thanks for the video!
theres also the prophecy vex weapons from season of the undying, where the milk tubes light up and get more and more electrical when you fire. fire enough shots with last progency 1 and the vex portal looking scope makes a pulse/surge of power and almost opens up a vex portal.
It’s so crazy that you posted this today because I noticed a cool interaction with the Battle Harmony armor pieces. The glow that appears on both of the armor pieces will adopt the color of the glow of the shader applied to the bond so that the glows are always matching… or harmonized, if you will.
Veist weapons also have their own unique reload animation. Malfeasance bullets leave a trail of darkness behind them. Current iron banner weapons catch on fire during the hunt.
Tommy's matchbook also has a unique reload, similar to its real world counterpart, the Thompson SMG.
If you aim in with veist weapons and spin in a circle, the numbers around the reticle go up and down. It's a compass, and I first noticed it on the Recluse smg.
Not exclusive to Veist weapons but all Veist sights do have compasses iirc.
My favorite cool detail is the fact that telesto is sentient
Gjallarhorn snarls at the player, when equipped. One Thousand Voices has a very gnarly bone-like growl, when reloaded. If a trcking Module is equipped ton a RL, the reticule light up, when acquiring a target. The Vex Mythoclast GG ornament change colour when switching firing modes. Forerunner Solstice ornament has an ammo counter in hipfire.
I'll add more if I remember any.
I personally like the moon handcannon (Loud lullaby), when you reload you can hear a feint whispering
Fantastic video Patty! I love all the little details. I had noticed some of these but I was surprised to see most of the others. It's interesting how many of these can help you get extra information about opponents in crucible as well.
Certain Armor sets have special vfx, like the Ikelos Armor shows the WarNet light up around you when your shield breaks, or Reverie Dawn
Holosights on various guns such as coldheart, sturm (i think), have a far reticle that pops out of the main one, zooming along the length of the gun when you go into ADS. Its a lovely little thing
ikelos weapons' little side cubes heat up a lot when firing, likely heat radiators, which suggests to the high energy within them. sadly this doesnt apply to the ikelos field testing ornament for the polaris lance
veist weapons' bullets have a green tinge to their trail, in addition to the colour of the element they use. i wonder what that implies?
a whole bunch of exotics dont release casings when firing, and not always those you expect
even weirder to add to that, riskrunner will release casings in normal mode, but doesnt in conductor mode. is it firing the whole bullet, for 60% more bullet, per bullet? in any case the holes they make in the ground almost suggest that non-conductor mode should be kinetic damage, since they make kinetic coloured bullet trails and holes
spending time paying attention to the weapons you hold and the armour you wear can be a nice way to give players like myself who are motivated by immersion and feel a much needed boost to motivation to keep playing when you feel like doing weeklies is monotonous. try treating that stuff as a testbed to see what detail you can immerse yourself in

I've always loved and stuck with Destiny because of the weapons. Bungie is amazing with their weapons (most of the time). I already knew most of these but it was nice learning about some new ones.

The light on the wishenders sword actually ticks down and the bow releases when it fully fades, it also has a neat interaction with the gauntlets that let you hold bows indefinitely

0:11 it's not when you aim at an enemy, the angry face indicates that the gun has locked onto the enemy with its tracking rockets.

One thing you didn't note on the Lament is that it wails rather noticably on the last swing of its special combo which is very much in keeping with its name, 'The Lament'
i'm always so disappointed that so few people notice that duality has 2 different firing sounds. A Chunky blast for hipfire, and a highpitch ping for ADS

The HC "hammer pull" is a detail I loved literally since the beta. I thought it was so damn cool! 1:40
This season all class got a class item that produces an affect with a specific exotic. You for got the synthoceps in base and with the siva ornament will glow based on subclass when the perk is active

I love how destiny is one of those games that you can play without HUD and by details alone you can tell your ammo count sound queues to know abilities are charged, and your screen border can tell you if you have full health or not

VERY subtle but whisper of the worm has lights on the side than get brighter on controller as you pull down the trigger. Easiest to see without ammo so you can pull all the way down.
The graviton lance noise that increases reminds me of the noise that godzilla makes when he's charging up
The dead messenger effect also works hard light and borealis certain ornaments make it easier to tell for both those weapons tho
The handcannon hammer pull with the console trigger was just too sublime

You can hear a purr like sound when you pull out Gally. More importantly, you can hear the enemy pull it out in Crucible from a decent distance away
another lil detail is on the Seventh Seraph sidearm. The end of the barrel heats up as you fire it, however if you run DSC it doesn't do it in portions like Atraks or the Spacewalk.

Most underrated and unknown one is Promethium Spurs glow when the warlock has their solar super charged. Turns into one of the best looking pieces in the game
The fluid in omolon weapons also works as a level, if you're half empty and you point up or down, the airbubble shows which way is up
I happened across a unique reaction today as well.If you put the photo finish shader on the new sparrow we got from the solstice event.The illuminated designs and the sparrow will constantly change colors.It's pretty cool to see things like these little details in a game that you love.
that shader specifically causes ALL glow effects to cycle colors btw
6:24 in d1, celestial nighthawk would light up whenever you ads, and would be brighter if you did so in your super.

If you ADS the huckleberry and start firing you can see the bull symbol lighting up as you get stacks from it's perk
When your map is up before you transmat in gambit, it shows red to show the enimies across from you but it'll also show red for the drifter if you walk near him!
i noticed in cerberus that when aiming down sights, there is a number that flashes, indicating how many shots hit the inner circle
The eyes on the snakes from the Red String of Fate ornament light upwhen you're firing
Now if I remember right, trinity has a couple small details as well. Lightning will show on the arrows when active and if you pay attention while drawing it shows it going from three arrows spread to three arrows together. A small hologram on the bow
I love how the sunshot's sights are little flames.
You could do a video on hidden details in patrol spaces, or Hidden details in item flavor texts (like the palindrome one)
Another cool exotic armor piece is the Promethium Spur, which is engulfed in flames when your super is full.
Also, Geomag Stabilizers used to have an effect when topping off was still part of the perk, where you would see electricity around your feet when topping off
Gjallarhorn also gives off a little growl when heart of the pack procs
4:02 I’m pretty sure it’s a reference to the twenty men who tried to take Texas Red since it’s a western revolver-like design
9:55 correction, the barrel actually opens on both sides(it's much more noti eable with the first ornament it got)

This was a really great idea. I had no idea, bungie spent this much time on their weapons. Another idea could be small details around each planet.
Anarchy has bits of the gun that pulse like a sonar when you have grenades down

Also with Malfeasance, when your guardian pulls it out. His hands will shake as if they know how evil that gun is towards guardians.
Another detail on the heated exchange ornament for the last word was that bullet casings could be seen flying from the gun even though that is physically impossible to do in real life (it has been patched for a while but i still find it interesting)
Bond of Battle Harmony isn't the only one. Each season this year so far has had a legendary ornament that pairs with an exotic armor and causes additional effects for both. This season titans have the Doom Fang Plate which gets void effects while wearing Doom Fang Pauldrons.
I was running a solo duality and for the first time, I realized that dmt also has a kind of western whistle sound effect when you reach x5 cranial spike, I actually tested for a few minutes just to male sure I wasn't hearing things, probably never noticed because is really subtle and theres so much noise when you're in a fireteam.
When I hear it and I'm not using the gun in PvP, it usually means don't peek for a few seconds
The eyes on the tiger mask from 30th anniversary glow when enemies are nearby.
Amazing video that shows just how much work the design and graphics team put into this game, which is certainly the best-looking FPS on the market... still.
Would be nice to see something about secrets you may have missed in various locations. Like the cat on Widow's Court.
