To be fair he was using Astora, so if he could actually hit with it he could easily beat the sad range of the pick. Unfortunately mr. pyro man doesn't quite know what aiming is I think :/
I used to use one in my right hand and the dragonslayer greataxe in the left for a cosplay, I used the shield to attack and the axe as a decoration, like the boss
@@AlphaI250 But you see the axe a lot in PvE gonks and actual ganker squads a lot. Less so than before, but back in the pre-DLC days you'd have a solid 50% chance that when you invaded, one phantom or the host had that damn orange slice axe equipt. The shield? Not so much.
@@AoBaiGaming The shield is so powerful though, you can shield bash trade almost any attack, it'll deal pretty good damage and knock them off + It has one of the highest protection in the game. I guess the reason its under used is because of how heavy it is

That pyro guy made me chuckle. Those flame turrets only track a target if they're cast while locked on. If you cast them free-aim, they do nothing more than shoot in the direction you were facing.
One medal is for 1v1 duels and the second medal is for the 2v2 3v3 team battles and brawls Edit: "is r1 parry still your tactic?" Fts: *immediately hits r1 and parries* 🤣🤣
It’s a thrust weapon because you attack by slamming the pointy end into enemies at a perpendicular angle which is effectively like thrusting a pointy weapon into them.
You can kinda tell that the last guy must’ve been following a build/gameplay guide. His behaviors are so methodical and it kinda seems like outside of his build, he has no idea what he’s really doing.
Executioner's greatsword: only way to run a buff build with no attunement investment. PvP invasion: you can use the fp gain to tell where the host is at. Stomp weapon art: pocket poise and both the golf swing and backspin. Strick damage: near infinite stunlock.
Use the millwood axe on a fatroll build its super fun and actually really good. For armor i recomend prioritizing poise and fire defence because even though the fatroll is good enough to avoid most spells, vestige at close range is almost undodgable.
You should do a greatsword, for instance the Flamberge because it is very underrated on the right hand and a rapier on the off hand. The Flamberge is good one-handed because it’s two-handed heavies aren’t as good as for instance the Claymore, and use the rapier as a parry tool since a normal greatsword swing combos with a rapier attack. The weapon arts for the Flamberge do insane damage as well, more than most other greatswords. You can also use the Flamberge’s one-handed heavies as parry bait. Would love to see you give it a go!
Idk if this got patched, but back in the day, the weapon art Galvanize, not only increased your stamina regen, but it completely refreshed your poise. Sadly it doesn't reduce incoming damage which makes it inferior to it's counterpart "Perseverance"
for anyone who is weird like me and goes for uncommon strategies. The Blood pickaxe +10 gets 110 bleed build-up per hit. if you pair it with a quick offhand that also causes bleed build-up you will consistently get bleed procs on trade
Yaaaas literally just commented the other day how I would love to see some pickaxe roll catches, looks like we are a couple of like minded individuals XD
I had a similar build some time ago. I've found that the jumping attack work pretty well with this weapon. I managed to win most of my pvp with that combo. I remember I got someone that was literally a mile away, rolling back to heal.
Cast GMS on a buckler, wear untrue dark ring to hide it, then pressure people holding up a buckler. Their first reaction is to break your guard and you get free parry. For the rest of the match they will be scared and confused and you can pressure them freely. Pair with rapier so you can trade with shield poke.
Hey dude love the videos . I’m recently doing a spear and pike only build . I don’t know if you’ve ever used it but the Greatlance has the ultimate poke game , apparently very good at dealing status effects
You should try out a build where in the left hand, you have a weapon that has perseverance weapon art, and then use the great lance in the right hand. Just use perseverance, and then the lance, and it becomes pretty good, at least in theory

a pickaxe is a pointy weapon, it pierces/stabs things, it doesn't bludgeon(so not strike) and it doesn't cut(so it isn't slash) so why in the world does it not make sense for it to be thrust?
You know, it's a shame this is only really for one weapon. I kind of want to see the unholy amalgamation that is an Ornstein and Smough fusion. Smough's Great Hammer in one hand, Dragonslayer Spear in the other, with bits of both armor sets.
The weapon shaped for the sole purpose of allowing you to thrust its spike while doing a stronger, cutting-like motion on the handle is weird for being considered a thrust weapon? How?
This is one of my favorite weapons to play with but I can count with the fingers of my hand the people I've seen using it after 1,000+ hours, it's a beast if you have great timing. You should try using the roll-r1, it catches a lot of people on surprise, it's fast and does decent damage, there were a lot of missing opportunities in your matches, you would have won easily mixing the regular r1 with the roll-r1. Also, since nobody uses the weapon, most people don't know about it's sick hyperarmor.
You play big weapons like your using smaller ones except for the trading mentality,I say this because I play the same way and it really shows when you play other wannabe try hard duelist.Try to make an attempt at making them panick roll more and using the one handed moveset for a slight bit more range and use the backstep for a quick running attack initiation(Just a few things ive seen people who main Ultra weapons use)it also makes it a bit more fun to watch a big boi be super aggressive.Along with that use the Lothric long spear its got great roll catch potential in its heavy attack for one of these showcase vids.
