Stem propagating Alocasia? With updates | Plant with Roos

  • Did you know this was possible? I didn't until I saw two friends do it and of course I had to try - and capture it. Sadly I lost most of the update footage, a risk with filming so many videos over longer periods of time. I'm being better now about putting it in the right folder immediately to prevent this from happening again. I hope it was still helpful! x Roos

Life experience is worth more than schooling sometimes. 😀💚 You learn way more about plants growing them, than being in a class room.

The cuprea is one of my favorites in my collection! I moved a few moths ago and my cuprea lost all its leaves so I used the opportunity to chop up the main stem like you did. Now I have 3 cuprea plants some months later :)

I always plant them lower in the pot, when they form a stem. So it is all rooted. I recently repottet my cuprea and took some stem cuttings from. Mine had some root rot, so no roots on the cuttings , but I hink they alreaddy starting to sprout 😊

I am not a very organised person (working on that) so I maybe watered every 2 weeks so pretty dry al the way through. I have one if those stick meters I stick in there too check, if it's under 3 I water.

that's not a stem propagating, you actually did the same as to root propagation just vise versa. instead of taking about the root and replat it you left the half of the root and replanted the top which already had root part so there was no need for sprouting it, it wood work anyway without it.

    • @plantwithroos
