The 2019 remake had more than an adequate amount of time, had an outrageous budget, and the film still turned out to be a giant pile of shit.
I saw this as a kid before I saw Tarzan. So I was like "why did they rip off George of the jungle"

Every animal in the jungle pretty much knows about it. The gorillas even made a trampoline for George to bounce on for when he falls from one of his situations.
I do. I watched this when I young. It made me laugh, no question. =)

Disney 1990s movies were the best ever. I am so proud of being a 90s kid. Goerge of the jungle is my favorite disney comedy movie.
Yeah, there's a reason why the 90s Disney movies are part of the "Disney Renaissance"; because a lot of Disney theatrical movies produced during that period (especially the animated movies coming from the Disney Animated Canon) are all really good ones.

I was born in the 1990S as well. I saw this in Theaters when I was 4. Oh & if I remember correctly, there was a Mickey Mouse short just before George of The Jungle started. I think the short was called “Runaway Brain”.
This is the very first movie I ever watched after immigrating to the United States when I was 6 in 2001. Him spinning the lion in the air is a staple memory.
Charlie Sammut of Monterey Zoo trained a real lion named Josef/Joseph (passed away in 2008). He served as Brendan Fraser's stunt double for the wrestling scene. Fraser himself was really touching a life-size puppet of a lion.

Charlie Sammut of Monterey Zoo trained a lion named Josef/Joseph (passed away in 2008). He was temporarily replacing Brendan Fraser for the wrestling scene. Fraser himself was really lifting a life-size puppet of a lion.

Fun fact: The lion here, Josef, who was a bit of a star in the 90s, was also brought in by Disney to serve as a visual model for the Lion King crew to draw inspiration from while designing Mufasa.
I remember watching the lion 🦁 king 👑 sneak peek from Aladdin 📼 as a kid.
The Lion King and Aladdin are both way better than this.

@@leo99991 No. The male African lions in this film were performed by Bongo (without Caesar), Josef and Caleb. Josef and Caleb were owned by Charlie Sammut who performed as Brendan Fraser's stunt double in this scene.

@@NickWuebker I think the lion used in this movie is made out of CGI and animatronics, because otherwise it wouldn't have survived the over-the-top cartoony slapstick humor seen in the lion fight scene with George and the Lion; besides, in some scenes of that same lion fight sequence the lion is heard making cat-like noises, which, realistically, is something lions are not able to make that kind of sound.
Same thing with Shep the elephant; there's no way you could train a real-life elephant to actually act and sound like an exaggerated dog for this film, hence Shep is brought to life by a mixture of both CGI and animatronics so that he could act and sound like an exaggerated dog just like in the original 1967 cartoon this movie was originally based on.

@@aliddleboi4599 Very unlikely, because otherwise Disney would've gotten into serious legal trouble for animal cruelty if they did that. The lion in George of the Jungle here is brought to life by a combination of a real life lion and puppetry, where in scenes of over-the-top cartoony slapstick puppetry is used as a stunt double for the lion, so that the realistic lion doesn't get killed in all that over-the-top cartoony slapstick-filled fighting.
Still my favorite childhood movie! I haven’t watched it in forever but watching these clips just gives me such a happy vibe. Almost feeling like a kid again!
