The holding the loop thing Is something I started doing just because putting it on my thumb was a pain in the ass and is uncomfortable to leave on while actually lifting. Cool to see it is actually a good way to do it. Lover the vids Dave, thanks for all the advice. Wish I had these videos back in college when I was lifting. I took about an 8 year break from the gym, got fat, got sick of being fat and started focusing on strength training last year around this time. Lost 65 lbs and I am stronger than I have ever been at 33. Love having all these great resources and they have really helped me get the most out of training.

No shit, my only knowledge of how to use a wrist wrap was Silent Mike absentmindedly wrapping during a competitor video. This is a game changer for me, although I'm not sure I can handle a wrap that tight with my skinny girl wrists. Knee sleeves, belt use for 4 and 3 inch belts, shoes, belt use for women, ammonia use, which chains are best, would love video on all these. Thanks for supporting Neversate! I've had a bad week. This video has made me feel like there is good out there.
I love this tip. Watched it when you first posted it and it changed how I wrap my wrists for bench. I mostly use your Constrictors for benching and I love them.
I used to wrap it with the thumb loop around my thumb, but all the tension of pulling the loop while wrapping it causes the loop to eventually tear apart. Also, taking off the loop from the thumb can be a literal pain and cause my thumb to strain. Thank you for this video!
Learn something everyday. I watched yesterday so I might not remember if Dave explained why wrist wraps have a loop if not for putting a thumb through it? In short why a loop and not a tab of non elastic material?
Swede did a video on wrapping wrists, I prefer his method. I hold the 'thumb loop' like a deadman's switch in my hand, very similar to Dave's demo but backwards.
It used to drive me absolutely insane every time I would see a lifter wearing wrist wraps while deadlifting. I just couldn't see the point of it. I mean, it's obvious why they're being used for the bench press, and I thin most people can understand intuitively why a lifter would use them on the squat, but there is no obvious rationale for wearing them on the deadlift....until now.
Im sorry but ur wrong about the belt loop, u just start it a little higher on the hand same way with thumb loop, plus those are 16s not 30s so no shit u cant get it wrapped right lmao i thought this guy knew what he was doing?
Dave's adrenaline spikes when he wraps. Like he's PTSD from competition.
I was waiting for his fingers to turn blue.
@@louderthangod I thought I saw purple during the deadlift wrap lol
He looked so pissed messing with those wraps holy sh!t.
I noticed he shakes a lot. What's caused that?

never had thought about wrapping for deadlifts....ive had my old efs wrist wraps for 8+years still use them several times a week....

J&S Video if you’re deadlifting properly you don’t grab the bar that hard like bench press. Hands are just hooks

Love the expert advice! I will definitely be utilizing this information in my training.
Damn, this is a knowledge come up. Always had problems getting enough wrist support on heavy shit
You’re the best Dave!

Thank you so much for your time! Willie
Hey Dave, thanks
Very simple yet useful tip! Thanks Dave
Ive been using the loop wrong this whole time
I used to wrap it with the thumb loop around my thumb, but all the tension of pulling the loop while wrapping it causes the loop to eventually tear apart. Also, taking off the loop from the thumb can be a literal pain and cause my thumb to strain. Thank you for this video!
wrapping behind the hand vs across the palm was the key for me - wraps don't slide on the first wrap now. thanks Dave
This is great. Thanks man

would you use the same bench style of wrapping for an overhead press?
PAMOJA4LIFE i would think so its the same thing as Benching you want to keep a straight Wrist for maximum power and prevent injury
That’s some really good Velcro
Fantastic, Great video 👍, How to wrap your hands when you have withdrawals from crack
Which method of wrap would you recommend is optimal for overhead press and clean, snatch and press.
Brilliant Pro Tip!
Awesome ,thanks ,tried it this morning, best set of bench and pain free wrist
Cheers 👍
Appreciate it!
Very well explained thank you
Really helpful and useful - thanks!
I don’t know if I’m making this too difficult but could you show wrapping both wrists?
I struggle with these so much... Time to watch it again. Ps I'm an engineer so whatever that means
Ha, thanks for the like. I think I finally got it... Black faces towards me with wrap going outside. I think a left and right label would be so great.
What length of wraps is Dave using in the video?
Ive cut knee wraps in half for my first wrist wraps too loo
So much knowledge and wisdom right there
For which exercises should we use the wrap and for which exercises we shouldn't use it?
i like to cinch/stretch the wrist wrap at every half turn
Wraps come in different lengths, how long are those wraps?
Curious, what length of the normal wrist wraps are you using? If I am using SBD stiff wraps, whats the elite FTS equivalent?
we got one fly, two flies, attention everyone we got a fly on the passenger side
Waiting for knee wraps version.
How long should the wraps be
Awesome

Not quite understanding. What exactly are the illegal methods we aren't supposed to do ?
Can't have any fabric touch the bar, so you need a perfectly clear palm.

I have a slight wrist sprain and wrist wraps (the regular way) helps it not hurt when pulling
First!!!!!! Dave seems pissed off that he has to tell people how to wrap a wrist the right way
I think Dave was just getting pissed at the velcro, LOL. Those wraps were in love with each other, and kept getting in his way.

Most optimal way to use the thumb loop - cut the fucker off!
What’s the best length
Anyone see the fly land on his hand😂
sounds like hes trying to make the belt loop look worse than it is.
Here I was thinking you just wrapped them around your wrist....
They called wrist wraps for a reason
Why You are using left wrap on right hand? This is why you locking loop on thumb. You start it in wrong way man!

You are wrapping it too tight sir.
If you can't hold it, you don't deserve to lift it
These are wraps, not straps.
