I recently purchased the Bad Boy 42" Rambler. It will be used strictly for our 3/4 acre residential property. I'm hoping it holds up and proves to be durable. We have a drainage ditch in the front next to the street. I was very careful and went slow. I sure don't want to tip the mower over and be under it.
My last mower was a Deere STX46 (46" cut) with a 14hp Kohler and served us well for 27 years. I've been wanting a ZTR so I decided to retire the old Deere.
I really enjoyed your video as you showed the mower in use, not just a walk around telling us how sturdy and well built it is. Thank you!!

This is without a doubt, the best mower review I have seen. You covered important points relative to real world conditions. Have you considered cleaning your mower with air instead of water? I put a 2 foot wand on my air hose and can get into every nook and cranny on my mower with ease.

Over 200 hrs on the kohler engine, mowed my yard and many other peoples yards as a side hustle over a few years. Mines 5 years old and it’s still running just as strong as the day I got it. Lots of rough north Louisiana land mown with it, would recommend it over any other motor minus maybe the Honda and that’s debatable. People just hate on kohler due to a rocky past, all automotive companies have had bad lines of engines, it takes years to get a good engine. The 747 is one of the best mower engines I’ve used.

I have a Husqvarna 48" lawn and garden tractor with a Kohler 7000 series engine. I now have 450 hours on it. The only thing that ever failed was a starter selenoid. Preventive maintenance is the key to long engine life no matter the brand.

I'm with you, I went from a Husqvarna 5426 (I believe) zero turn which I never liked, because it rode rough and never cut well, to a Bad Boy Maverick 60" deck with Kohler engine. There's no comparison really between the two. I'm 70 years old and when I got through cutting with the Husqvarna, I couldn't walk because it hurt my low back so much. With the Bad Boy it's totally different because it has a suspension system under it, and its made cutting the yard fun again. My 69 year old petite wife loves getting a chance to use it. She had to learn to use it when I had rotator cuff surgery last September 2019. Anyway, I can't find anything negative to say about the Maverick, unless it's that at my age I'll probably never get to buy another new one, because this one will last me and my wife the rest of our life.

Thank you for such great video. I am currently on the market for my first zero turn mower. I almost pull the trigger on a Z422 Kubota. But noticed this Bad Boys are great prices. I was considering the Elite since I only have 3 acres but I was very happy when I discovered that Bad Boys Maverick has a Honda Option. Had great experience on Honda engine on my push mowers. However I was bit worry that is a 688cc compared with the 730 Kawasaki. But Listening to the video it seem to have plenty of power. So because this video I made the decision to get the Maverick Bad Boy. I love TH-cam!!! By the way, nice watch.

The Maverick is the best option for a bigger guy or gal. The arm controls are adjustable, and you can actually move them out(spread out away from legs) a little ways and still operate the arms. Your legs don't have to be pinched in, Thats huge for bigger guys. The cut quality is professional looking. The little bit off frame suspension they do give you go's along ways.

I would call it a residential/commercial cross. We typically mow 6 acres but I’m sure it could handle more (not sure of the rating) I just used it this morning to cut trails through 20 acres of hay fields so we could inspect fence lines and it worked like a champ on grass up to my chest (took 2 passes but worked... for trails).

My Bad Boy Maverick,Kawasaki is two years old. It’s a great mower. Does what it’s built for. My only gripe Is the front wheel axles and bearings. They are 100% junk! I drilled out the forks for 5/8” x 9” bolt axles and used 5/8” x 1 3/8” bushings with grease fittings. I had to replace bearings way to often. If you keep them greased now they last forever. Try it ! @@YanasaTV Cool and you were going through some pretty high grass, at that. Even though our Kubota ZD-1211 60" has a 24.5 HP diesel, I would hesitate to cut grass and weeds that high. If you ever burn or wear out a belt, suggest replacing it/them with Kevlar belts which are MUCH more rugged. I get mine from V-Belt Supply.com. IMHO, grass and weeds that high are a job for the tractor and bush hog. You tend to find "suprises" in grass that tall. I think our bush hog is 7' and PTO driven off a 53HP diesel tractor. I know the blades are gonna get nicked up but they are easy to sharpen and require a less critical edge. Really enjoy your climate discussions and suggest that an interesting, future topic might be the food, particularly meat, shortages that are in the news. Good reason to at least have chickens! We've had great luck with "ASA Brown" Sex-Links which are prolific, large brown egg layers. I'm putting feed and scratch back @ #50 per bag should there be any shortages of that. the whole idea of anti scalping rollers is not to scalp the grass? so why did my badboy zt rollers never touch the ground? scalped the s*** out of my lawn on hills, so I had to make brackets for the rollers and drill the back ones lower so the deck wouldn't go lower than an inch ? why put rollers on if you can't adjust them? and the mower will destroy your back if you hit a dip., why would you put a solid seat with no suspension? I hope bad boy corrected this on their new mowers? the 3 good things I can say good is it is a heavy duty mower and it takes abuse! and made in USA with a USA made engine company!
