  • I had lots of unpleasant surprises with various pieces of the Empire collection. Now that I'm done, here's what you need to be aware of.

Hello, do the grips fit on my Street Glide CVO 2016? With internal cable routing in the handlebars. I already have the power connections behind the fairing. Thanks for an answer 👍

They should absolutely fit, but verify the part no for your bike on HD's website

I always add the floorboard adapters to move the floorboards away from the bike 1 inch therefore giving more room for a bulky boot

Nice, I didn't know they made adapters for that.

Cutting that plastic on grips is common and I had to do it as well
    Great videos keep it up

You're the first person to tell me that. Crazy! For what they charge, it should fit like a glove!

The plastic insert on the left side needs to be removed before installation. It even says on it, Remove Prior to Assembly. The same goes for the Kahunas, and this is not mentioned anywhere in the instructions. But it comes out easily. Do it before running the wire down the handlebar.

I removed the gray plastic insert you're referring to, I have it with the leftover parts from the job. I wouldn't even have been able to slide the grip on the handlebars without removing that. I spent a couple hours studying the grip, housings and bar, and hit the web as well. Bottom line is they weren't going on without a mod. This, and the fitment issues with other parts of the collection I installed on my bike, made for a very disappointing experience. But it's a year later and everything is working and looking good, and that's what counts. Thanks for posting. 👊

Great Video. I was looking at gettign the Empire Footboards, but I was curious about the grip and if your boots ever feel like they sink in or get caught in the openings.

They feel just like the stock boards...but look WAY better. I have to say I really love this collection. I put them on just before Winter so really haven't enjoyed them yet. Can't wait for spring!

the floorboards move so that they give way if you happen to scrape in a corner and don't dig in causing a possible crash.

I understand they need to move, but they do not need to flop up and down so loosely like that The stock boards don't do that.

I really like the look of the Empire Collection... did you say there's a way to increase the friction, so the floor boards don't move so easily?
