The course is firming up and with weekend pin placements (and tee’s) I expect this course to be a bear. He clearly deserved much better than he shot today. If he can go out and do the same tomorrow with just a dash of luck with the putter he can post a four or five under round. I totally expect most guys to fall back tomorrow. I don’t expect the lead to be better than -8 tomorrow. He’s much closer than many of you may think.

Ronnie Morrow he’s putting good he needs to be closer so he can have better chances at shorter putts. These iron shots off the tee aren’t going to cut it. How hes leaving himself 180-160 yards to the cup when it used to be 100-120. If u remember the first round how many great par saves did he have, if those had been ours for birdie he be in the top 3 for sure. He used to have eagle chances on these par 5’s now he’s lucky if he gets easy birdie chances. A Tiger that doesn’t hit the ball 320-330 isn’t a contender on these bigger corses. It is what it is.

Tiger look like he was under the weather and did not look rested at all. He looked sluggish but like all other golfers he did what he could. He’s only human and has days just all the others.

Oliver Phippen then you should know better!! Slow play doesn’t equal better play for anyone. And if they were slow they would be put on a clock. Their pace is determined by the group in front of them. Not a random shot clock. Tiger is always deliberate but he’s not slow.

Why does the media bad mouth his game. In the conditions today I felt he played well. Definitely not magical, but professionally the course was misjudged today.

He didn't have a great day with the putter. He burnt the edge on damn near every putt but just couldn't quite get the birdies to drop.
This shows the difference between pros and the rest. I play of a 12 and I can not get the ball to spin back like that. Today I played a 6800 Mtr course, landed the ball probably 10 foot from the hole on the par threes. pug marks showed and I still rolled 15 to 20 foot past. That is what holds me back. Even Par 5's, hit the green in 3 and still have 15 to 20 feet back because I can not get the ball to spin back no matter how well I hit it. And 225 yards plus with an Iron, I can get my driver past that, and I need my fairway woods to get near 200 yards. How the hell do they do it? But lets be honest, If his putter worked today, he would have shot a great score, how many putts shaved the hole as they went past. The last hole, I had the same sort of putt today and did the same thing, hit it well, just too low and leaked it past.
You do know there are other golfers, right? And most of them aren't prone to sulks and tirades when they miss a shot. All of them would be called out for scuffing a green with their putter after missing a long putt. And, yeah, he was and is a great player, but the over the top adulation by the USGA is a little much.

Today was definitely a disappointing round. To hit as many greens as he did and still shoot 1 over. The only chance he'll have is to get to -10 by Sunday. He's not out of it officially, but it is a tall task in front of him for the weekend

Its the previous and current drug use to manage back pain, I get it you got to do what you got to do, but its definitely affected his mental acuity. It shows on the putting surface, there is only so much concentration juice he can muster to manage to course. Its only going to get worse as time goes on unless he finds a way to stay away from pills, pot, and whatever else.

One thing is for sure. The U.S. Open sucks, both the men's and the women's. The best proof of that is if there's a tie at the end. What's their solution? Play a whole round! The whole tournament based on thinking like that. And, you can tell the players REALLY wish they were somewhere else. And, so do we.

Tiger shooting a 62 or 63 on Saturday or Sunday is very likely. He just needs to pick fast lines and trust that his ball will roll in the cup. Travino got tons of chip ins and putts that were going to go well past the hole if missed. It's a risky way to play, but when you are 7 back you gotta play like Seve and Travino and come at every green with your 5 wood and go for the chip in. Pepple Beach is not a drivers golf course, 3 wood to 5 wood all day long. Low trajectory roll inns are what you need. Hit the ball in the air at pebble beach and the merry mex will beat you everytime.

In 2 rounds of golf I don't think I've ever seen Tiger with fewer bogeys, he and Molinari will be in the mix come the back 9 Sunday.

The guy dominated golf for over a decade and is one of the best to ever play the game. He's earned this spotlight. He's a legend that can still compete with everyone else. If Jack or Gary were playing the camera would be on them all the time regardless of their score. It's called respect...not to mention he brings in the largest crowds. If everyone wants to watch him in person, why would it be any different for the folks at home. Sorry the cameras not always on Koepka, but that guy is as boring as it gets. The flu that Tiger contracted right after his Masters' victory, lasts about six to eight weeks. Look at his face; he's still feeling the effects. That said: Tiger had the putter going on Day 1 of the Open, but his drives & irons were great on Day 2. I think he's still sick, so, I'm not looking for him to have his full game going in this tournament. That said, he's Tiger Woods. Who knows what he's capable of doing on any day. After all, he won a US Open playing on a broken leg. 81 PGA victories with 15 Majors & 5 Masters. That's real.
