Fangio, Farina, Stuck and Fagioli all had cameos in this far more realistic film than the 1955 American melodrama, "The Racers," which featured '53 Ferraris but no real drivers. Banging out 350 bhp from 90 cubic inches, the Alfettas made a truly =wonderful= noise.
@Tom Smith Of course not ! Instead of crashing, and then burning, a perfectly decent - and expensive - piece of kit, they took stock footage from a real-life crash from Indy and spliced it to their footage. Isn't it obvious ?! Clearly not... .

@Tom Smith Yeah, of course. But they never raced anti-clockwise on the Monza banking ! The crash is clearly from an American oval.

The banking at Monza is double what this showed has to be Indy.
Duke Nalon 1949 Indy 500. Started on pole and crashed on lap 23. Actually survived and raced till 1954.
In 1951 in Monza there wasn't the high speed oval.
