I check back at least once a year. Favorite parts are when the pink block get introduced and the final sequence with all three upper pink blocks. You are right , it still hits like day one .
I have never understood why this instrument did not receive more attention. They had one on display at the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago and even the staff let it just sit in a corner as an interactive “toy” for children to play with, to the point where some of the cubes were lost or destroyed. It is a beautiful virtual modular synthesizer and should have been used for public displays or fun waveform demonstrations.
how about look it up before you comment, Betty White. The price dawg, the price is crazy. and there are tons of technical issues with it, a lot of people spent so much money on it but ended up with a lot of problems. You understand now?
Who is watching it from 2024? I'm lucky to try it IRL in Poland, technical museum of Copernicus they have one.I stayed there for almost whole day just for this great thing. Anyon can use it there. Though very few people know how actually to use.😅
I gotta say I was sceptical of re-watching what seen 10 yrs ago but it's actually stood the test of time quite well, I wonder why these never caught on...
I'd guess it's because however cool it is, it's pretty limited in how much creative expression it allows. If you truly wanted to make unique songs on it, instead of just re-hashing the same rythm and sound and melody set ad infinitum, you'd have to keep creating and programming new pieces all the time. Combined with the fact that in 2009, 3d printing wasn't as accessible as it is today, i think that's why.
If it were easy to play as is lovely to look at, then yes! The reactable is complete, it interface syncs to with software and external machines without any problem, but I think the problem was a bad promotion has been, this instrument is for expert musicians or dj producer and not for everyone.
I saw this like 10 years ago. And just thought about today for the first time. And wanted to see if they were still doing stuff. Sadly no. The price was just way to much for people to really get behind
This is in-f*cking-sane. I can't believe that yt recommended me this after 10 years and I can't believe that something like this even existed in 2009 either!!!
Sadly, this guy, Roberto Giuliano, passed away in mid-July. I spent so many hours in his music practice room in Turin and this song in particular has always stuck in my head. RIP ReacTj, thank you for everything ❤
Hard to believe 10 years ago I first heard this. Originally this was one of the reasons why I really wanted to start producing trance music. I ended up experimenting in Hard trance too. Had a few releases under the name "Hypothermiac" too. I remember shuffling to this back in the day too. This brings back tons of memories. Edit: ReacTable has or had an app to play around in too. I had it for a while.
in 2009 I thought this would be the future of electronic music, now for some reason, in 2020 youtube recommended me this same video, and I realise that I completely forgot about it, and the world never embraced it, too bad, it makes live electronic music way better than it is
God dam i remember when this video first came out and i loved it. Now 10 years has past and rediscovered this, love it added to my playlist. Damn time flies fast. Love the work
I watched this long times ago, and then, I found it again via recommended. Thank you TH-cam. There is one more song that I can't remember the name. Hope to see it, someday.
I saw this instrument in popular science 10 years ago when its first launch then discover you my man. This is an extraordinary invention for music society and you are the first and best talented reactable dj thank you :)
To say this was in 2009 I watched this so many years back it amazes me that technology wasn’t really all that great still and here we have you with a dope ass table I mean the programming and all must of been difficult but well worth it!
darn youtube had to remind me of existence of this thing. when i was like 9 i really wanted this table thing at home. and hell i now do again, sort of.
I've been listening to this since 2014 because I found it interesting to experiment with music for the first time I tried playing a musical instrument.
i didn't see this in my recommended, i am just returning to the video that introduced me to electronic music all those years ago ^_^ i was feeling a bit nostalgic. but its cool that TH-cam is now recommending this.
So underrated invention from the hero ages of Internet. If I know right it was opensource, the mechanical parts and description also, so you can build your own table.
And again, another great and very sustainable time with a special friend, and, for sure, with this piece of art. Thank you. Music and memories will always be the best combination ❤️
Spending time with you, like we do, is a gift, which will never be forgotten. It is more than just staying together and have a simple good time-it is like creating living memories

Hey wake up its 2009
It's a real shame that Reactable didn't catch on. It's got uncanny potential in today's electronic music.
Still fucking awesome in 2022.
Wow, we re listening to this almost at the same time after 12 years. Cheers from Romania
I check back at least once a year. Favorite parts are when the pink block get introduced and the final sequence with all three upper pink blocks. You are right , it still hits like day one .
So it only took me 11 years to just NOW see this?! Wtf, this is awesome.
