I just bought an assembly square, and Boutique hotel, all this is great info because some day I am sure I'll be wanting to light them up :) Very cool shop set, satisfying to view thanks for the video.
This was a very informative video. I have been wanting to learn how to do lighting for years. The shops moc is definitely one of your most beautiful builds. The thought behind this lighting is spot-on. Nice job, as usual.
Love that you are highlighting a lighting upgrade to LED! Damn I used to hate those Metal Halide lamps … and the High Pressure Sodiums too! Always needed to be on a Genie Lift when replacing lamps or replacing ballasts! Awesome with the 300 ohm resister!! That Brick Loot metering tool is the bomb!! That “Shops” MOC is looking terrific!
I bought some SMD LED last month to try ligthing my modulars because I think they give a more realistic effect (and I like custom) but I realized I don’t really know how to wiring them ! Many thanks for your precious feedback and your really interresting Channel 👏🏻👏🏻
Thank you for this information . I love how LEGO builds come alive with lighting. Yours are great. To dim the lights couldn’t a second resistor be added in series instead of opening up the original one and replacing it?
Yes but it could cause it to drop the voltage too much. You can also use a smaller led like a 0402. I now make and sell my own line of lighting products and make a dimmer as well.
@@BevinsBricksWorld yes, but as long as the two resistors add up to the same value it should work. I guess it would cost more having two vs one. I’ll check out your stuff. Thanks
I do enjoy your channel and love lego. And love your builds and seeing your creations. It seems though that your channel is turning more into a lighting channel and less of a lego channel
Thanks and well currently that is what I'm working on is the lights. Unlike most people that are able to do TH-cam full time I can only do videos on what I'm actually working on. As my Job has been eating more and more of my free time lately.
Can you post a link for your USB Hub and the wattage meter you used? I reviewed your Blinky Brick video and am pretty set on those. You did have another set up for your airport… it had some other gear in there… I’ll have to watch that again… will this light configuration work with the set up for the airport?
I use a variety of different USB ports I'm currently using this hundred watt USB because it provides 1.5 amps per plug and it is mountable. The unit is rated for 100 watts. amzn.to/3FGxhIQ Blinky bricks is currently having a Black Friday sale in 25% off if you are looking for some great deals on lights. Thr meter I'm using comes from brick Loot and here is a link for that. www.brickloot.com/collections/light-linx/products/usb-charger-capacity-power-voltage-amp-detector-tester-and-meter I do also intend on making a more in-depth video for those that are wanting to light up their cities. Both brick Loot and Blinky bricks Lighting systems would work well with for example my airport setup.
Hi, so in my latest build, I used some starry lights (little led Christmas lights) it had 3 AA batteries. I cut the battery pack and added a 3V(adjustable) transformer, so I can plug them into the wall. Would that be good/safe?
You have probably changed your ways to do this, but I like running all the LEDs to a common PCB with a resistor array/network. One common and 8 outputs.
Make a video where you start from Nothing. hook up the power and then the lights and show everything, because no one talks about the power or how to hook the power up, or how to hook the lights to the power or anything. It's only pieces hear and there
Luv yar mall of shops dam this looks amazing build man luv yar lighting. I gess best lighting would be. Any. That dont damidge the lego..over time..just like. Sun light thru window s it fade s the bricks .I like lighting up moc as long as. Less wiering every wear
Thanks so much. With using LED lights I would not be worried about damaging the Lego and anyway. Just like my entire Workshop is all LED lighting as well to decrease the possibilities of uv-light damaging it.

Wow! Thank you for sharing your knowledge.
Good and usefull information. Most vids are about the expansive light kits. I, by far, love the diy way to do it.

@@BevinsBricksWorld I would still like to do lunch sometime. I will contact you vis email.
Great summarization of the work you did the other evening. Pretty concise and makes sense! Wooo lighting all around! :D
Haha thanks man, ill make more like this in the future as well.
Really informative in the resistors. Helps to see how interchanging a further DYI style provides different effects.
Thanks Greg, not sure how many people are willing to try doing their own lighting but thought for those brave enough to try I could give some basics.

Great, informative video, thank you!
So glad I subscribed, this is some valuable information. Thank you for all of the info.
Thanks and thanks for watching.
This is probably the best and most informative channel I seen so far its legit and exceptional even your builds are extremely top shelf!

love it's very informative! next, you should try an induction coil set up and try to make them wireless :)
My jaw literally dropped when I saw a 0.000 W reading. That's it, when I start lighting, I'm just sending you my money
Its all about choosing the right leds :)
Thanks a lot for your detailed explanation!

If it had 3 AA batteries its good for 5 volts. I would put a usb plug on it and use that instead.
@@BevinsBricksWorld Thanks!
I did not see the USB current/wattage/voltage device list on your amazon shop, do have an affiliate link to that?
Absolutely its 100 watt 5 amp I do believe

It would be fun to make a flashlight 🔦 for a mini figure
the video is super helpful, but i wish maybe one day if you have time to create a diy video instead of explanation what you did, anyway, thanks :)
What gauge wire are you using?
32 awg
Do you wire in series?
No parallel as you need to keep the voltage the same. If you did it in series you would get a voltage drop.
Kind of like Somerset
