Thankyou for sharing. Sadly the snobbery holds just the same today.❤

And so Hilda's troubles begin. It's funny how moral the shows were then, really hitting the ethics and sometimes even politics hard. Thank you for posting!

Thanks as always for sharing. Painful at times to watch the Dennis scenes with the posh lot. Bet there are snobby people like that around ! Really felt for him when he had to walk home. Good scenes with Elsie and Dennis, she knew didn't she. Good scene with Elsie and Emily, yes, Emily is too engrossed with work ! Another fab scene was with Len and Dennis, Dennis realising that he'd been taken for a fool and asking Elsie if he could have the £1 back from the hat he bought from her shop. Top class acting.

Temptation is a terrible thing - Years ago i was looking through some books in a charity shop and i found twenty pounds between the pages of one of the books - Torn between handing it to the charity shop and keeping it i kept it - About fifteen minutes later i was walking along the street and the sole of my shoe came completely off and i had to go right there and then and buy new pair - Im pretty sure that was Karma telling me i had made the wrong decision - Ever since then i have always erred on the side of honesty - Too risky otherwise , i got a warning it was just a shoe but next time it might be worse

Maybe it was a gift for something good you did in the past.

If the donation to the charity shop was a book with some money in it, then I would expect the price for said book to be about twenty pounds more than it was. I suggest you look up 'magical thinking'!
