You know it's going to be a good episode when the BOOM mic makes a appearance .

Boom mics being seen were common in television, on many tv programmes, even in the 70's when programmes were in colour, also sometimes camera lens from the second camera being seen was another thing, but despite that programmes were better back then, especially actors back then who spoke their words clearly and you heard every word they said, now lines are said all on 'Johnnie one note', and you also have a job to hear what they are saying alot of the time.

Gosh those babies are the same age as me. I was born in December 1964, so 4.5 months old in May 1965.

Coronation Street was much better then than it is today - more humorous yet grounded in reality,

I started watching Coronation St. in 1979 as I thought it a comedy. Great cast & lovely storylines, Mavis & Rita were a riot. Bill Podmore took an axe to it & I tuned out,& left the country in 1997

Thank You, enjoyed that. Good scene with David and the Postman at the beginning talking about Royal visit. You can tell Elsie has feelings for Mr Lindley, when Florrie mentions him, she dashes off. Poor Charlie, over the missing money. I'm glad Hilda has come clean to Irma. Nice to see Val with the twins in the pram. Best scene for me was Elsie & Len with Emily. Serves Len right for taking the joke too far. One joke too many !

That was a good scene. David Barlow was a very likeable character and I enjoyed his banter with the postman, who seemed to know everybody's business.

Although Hilda has trouble with the money, Stan does not change his working or suppin' habits.

I could have been one of those babies. I was 4 & a half months old in May 1965

Poor Hilda, really good acting there.
I wonder if the "special" where a few stood on the street waving at the royals out of view, was based around that?
