Thats just the stuff off the top of my head.

I wish there was a proper and fleshed-out universe-simulator sort of game with governments and politics and wars and colonies and mass-scale interactions with other races and your own faction, but a game like that (if actually done well) would take too long for anyone to care about developing.

coming back to this video to say i have been playing no mans sky for a while now and here are my results: - you can tame, keep, and ride animals as pets (for a price) - i have two pet dinosaurs (one is a t-rex looking dino) - i can make my own ships, and love all the solar ships - i am a billionaire (976,310,654 credits currently) - the quests, paths, and the worlds almost feel the opposite now, way to overwhelming. a lot going on and too much at once. - some of the quest are incredibly confusing and i needed to look up - there are still bugs and glitches to this day - but hey, at least i can ride my dinosaurs overall, it would be fun to get another dunkview on no mans sky, especially since they have changed it so much. anyway, much love @videogamedunkey i love your channel!
What a lot of people seem to forget is that No Man's Sky was originally intended for a demographic of people who just wanted to fly around and look at cool things. That's it. It just got so big it became this holy grail that it wasn't supposed to be.
If you are wondering why people say this game is shit, this is all the stuff that was promised and then wasn't in the game: -Multiplayer (There is none) -Massive Faction War and Joining Factions (Just 3 races randomly spread in systems that give you no benefits) -Orbits (None) -Animals that interact with each other (There are none) -Ships being a discovery because every ship is completely unique and different, and each player gets their own ship (Nopenopenope) -Different soundtrack for each player (Surprisingly, nope. Although the soundtrack is good.) -No skybox (There is one) -Can technically fly from one star to another without hyperdriving (again, nope) -Trading System (Nope) -Economy (Nope) -Landing on asteroids (Nope) -Portals (Nope) -Animal packs and groups with different ages (nope, shown in trailer.) -Animals who can knock down the environment (nope, shown in trailer.) -Fully destructible planets, allowing you to dig down to the core (Nope.) That's all I can think of right now.

Sure it's boring and lacks substance...but isn't it exactly what the dev promised? An absolutely humongous world, for you to explore to your heart's content. He didn't promise some epic campaign, or super deep plotline, or amazing boss battles, or...anything else really. The hype blew this game out of proportion, making you all expect it'd be something the dev never wanted it to be, and that's your fault, not his. I'm no fanboy, I probs won't get this game, and it's still "meh" (from what I've seen/heard so far), but not because it didn't deliver on what it promised.
It would be one thing to sell it for $60 and say it is something it isn't... But they said exactly what type of game it is and what you can do in it. What's the point? Anyone can make a giant world with nothing to do. All the early access games on steam are big maps with nothing to do. Its pretty sad that this type of business model is acceptable today, like when you pay for a product you expect that product to be good, not good 2 years down the line. I'd be pretty disappointed if I ordered a meal, then an hour later the waiter brings me a plate with a slice of cheese on it, then every hour he comes out and adds more ingredients until eventually i have a full meal.

OK this only proves that Murray is an incompetent manager and made a poor business decisions, overestimating his capacity to meet the deadlines and agreeing to unhealthy partnerships (he's not even capable of leasing secure facilities, apparently). Every single company faces difficulties at some point but only a few decide to lie and overhype a clearly unfinished product. Oh wait, they reinvested the vast amounts of money they made on pre sales into improving the game after 2 years and save face? Good for them. Murray and HG are truly the saviour of the industry!
coming back to this video to say i have been playing no mans sky for a while now and here are my results:
- you can tame, keep, and ride animals as pets (for a price)
- i have two pet dinosaurs (one is a t-rex looking dino)
- i can make my own ships, and love all the solar ships
- i am a billionaire (976,310,654 credits currently)
- the quests, paths, and the worlds almost feel the opposite now, way to overwhelming. a lot going on and too much at once.
- some of the quest are incredibly confusing and i needed to look up
- there are still bugs and glitches to this day
- but hey, at least i can ride my dinosaurs
overall, it would be fun to get another dunkview on no mans sky, especially since they have changed it so much.

-Ships being a discovery because every ship is completely unique and different, and each player gets their own ship (Nopenopenope)
-Different soundtrack for each player (Surprisingly, nope. Although the soundtrack is good.)
-No skybox (There is one)
-Can technically fly from one star to another without hyperdriving (again, nope)
-Trading System (Nope)
-Economy (Nope)
-Landing on asteroids (Nope)
-Portals (Nope)
-Animal packs and groups with different ages (nope, shown in trailer.)
-Animals who can knock down the environment (nope, shown in trailer.)
-Fully destructible planets, allowing you to dig down to the core (Nope.)

Sure it's boring and lacks substance...but isn't it exactly what the dev promised? An absolutely humongous world, for you to explore to your heart's content. He didn't promise some epic campaign, or super deep plotline, or amazing boss battles, or...anything else really.
The hype blew this game out of proportion, making you all expect it'd be something the dev never wanted it to be, and that's your fault, not his.
I'm no fanboy, I probs won't get this game, and it's still "meh" (from what I've seen/heard so far), but not because it didn't deliver on what it promised.
