I am so impressed by the gentleness and understanding that runs thru this vlog - especially on the part of you, Jamie, and your gifted hair stylist. xox
Thank you so much, it was my first time meeting Miss Kim at the salon. I love how she gets down at the child’s level to talk to her about not cutting her hair again just giving her a call if she’d like a trim or a new style. 🤍
Lilly is so adorable with her new haircut. What a special gift you have with all your children. Sending love and hugs from Florida. Hope you feel better Jamie 💐
Lily is an evolving treasure....suddenly out of toddler format into a really cute bob that makes her so sweet, middle child of mine found grandma’s scissors and cut a straight cross of bangs, looking like she went uphill one side to the other............
It turned out cute! My middle daughter did that at around the same age. She grew up loving to change her hair, and even gave me haircuts and dyed my hair. That's not what she chose to do for a living, but I could see her doing that if she ever needed a career change.
I ran an in-home daycare for some years. The loveliest, sweetest, sassiest little girl I took care of, did this under my watch. 4 years old. She was super sneaky and did little pieces here and there over the span of an hour during our quiet time. I found clumps stashed. She would stay up while the littles napped and play quietly. She asked to watch a show and had at it. Smart cookie! I felt so horrible! Her parents were understanding but I could tell they missed her hair. Thankfully it grows back. ❤🙏🏻
My sister sheared off her bangs across her forehead when she was Lily's age. My mom pulled out the old Super 8 and got some great footage of her dancing around with her new style. It's a precious memory now 😊
Her hair turned out very nice, she looks great. Miss Kim was absolutely wonderful and I love how she spoke to Lily and talked about helping her in the future. Wonderful vlog! 💕
I actually love Lily’s new hair cut. My daughter age three, decided that she wanted to cut her hair. My husband was at home with our daughter. She totally cut off her bangs. She had long hair at the time. We went to the hairdresser as well, for a fixer upper. We had many woman respond to her hair. A sympathetic smile, and some of their own stories to tell.
My oldest daughter cut her hair for the first time in kindergarten. She then proceeded to do so another three times that same kindergarten year. After many many talks and trips to the salon she finally started to vocalize her desire for a change in hairstyle. As she grew she was my kiddo who liked to change her look frequently. She is now 18 and is still that way. She is very creative and likes to express herself by her appearance. Short hair, long hair, bangs, no bangs, curly, straight, kinky, and every kind of style possible
Love Lily’s hair! My daughter trimmed her hair at about this same age as did her daughter it will grow back. I’d be speaking with other girls to prevent another unexpected trip to salon.
No picture, but when I was working the toddler room at day care I discovered the hard way that one of our pairs of scissors, while blunt at the tip, was still sharp enough to cut hair. We caught the little hairdresser before she cut off more than one big chunk. Those scissors were promoted to teacher scissors immediately! Fortunately the little girl's mom took it as calmly and practically as you did.
You were so understanding and gentle with Lilly after she cut her own hair. She looks so cute with short hair. Great job Mom. Hope you feel better soon.
I will be here for every video, Jamie, and you will always get a thumbs up from me. I love Lily's haircut. I raised 4 children and have 4 grandchildren. They ALL gave themselves a haircut at some time. I gave myself one right before picture day in 2nd grade.😊
Hey Jamie, my son did this to himself when he was 5 also. I was in the shower, and when I got out, he had gotten some scissors and cut his hair, right in the front, down to the scalp. Ofcourse he had a Dr appointment that morning, so we went to the Dr, and then to the hair salon. He is now 50 years old, and probably doesn't even remember it. God bless you and your babies, and thank you for sharing your lives with us.
You’re definitely NOT alone! 😅 Sweet Lilly, she seemed quite proud. The hairdresser did a great job of cutting and styling her hair! I wonder why Lilly stopped cutting where she did!
Not yet! I have 5 little girls so i try really hard to keep scissors put away but i know my middle will probably find a way anyways 😂. Miss Kim did a great job recovering her style ❤
I was soooo sad to see her beautiful hair cut but as they say it will grow again. Just hope it was a one time adventure. My mom had pictures of me with long hair to my waist I had cut my bangs like little nubs around my forehead I looked so weird. My Mom was so upset but she knew they would grow (eventually) 😮😮 after a stern discussion all ended well. Hang in there and get well soon.❤. Love your new adventure on you tube.
Lily’s hair turned out adorable! My hair stories are very old, and no photos. Most recent was my granddaughter getting the scissors and cutting her long hair like Lily’s. My own girls: My eldest daughter managed to scale my kitchen hutch, and get into a box to get my very sharp sewing shears. This is over 7 feet high! Then enticed her younger sister who had lovely silky hair past her waist. It was in a pony tail. So off came the pony tail, which meant the back of sissy’s hair was very short! My eldest also had a ponytail, but a low down one and as I checked to see if she had cut her own hair, her ponytail of beautiful curls fell off into my hand! Then the next day they wanted their hair back…………. Well, they never touched the scissors again at least! They ended up with pixie cuts, no saving their hair. They had managed this while I was nursing baby girl number 3 😅. I was so grateful that they didn’t hurt themselves. 3 days after my girls hair removal, a friend came to visit with her 5 year old daughter who managed to cut her hair and her scalp! The cut was a big V requiring lots of stitches. After that, I locked up my sewing everything! I never cut my own hair, I think I learned early after cutting my favourite dolls hair to neaten it, and ended up not managing the scissors well and lopped it more than I wanted. Lots of tears over that! Much ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤ to you all!
Jamie you handled it so well. My youngest daughter also cut her hair around the same age - it brought back special memories as a mum. I work with small children, we always a few kids every year who cut their own hair. Lucky hair grows back
Hoping all the best for you and your husbsnd and children in your transition. Divorce is always hard for children but today there is so much more communication and lots of love from you two, I think your kiddos will be just fine in the midst of this....I've watched a few of your family vlogs years ago when the 5 were just babiez and yesterday i saw your xhusband come acrossed my feed and then found you, so im subscribed to you both, wanting all good things for you all❤
I LOVE Lily's adorable new hairstyle after the salon stylist evened it up a bit. My adult daughter cut a chunk out of the front of her hair at age four. The scissors she found were so sharp, we were just thankful she didn't slice off a finger or two! She was not out of sight for more than a couple of minutes, but that's as long as it took. Oh well.
I just love your calm and positive but realistic approach. No point crying or yelling over cut hair 😂😂😂 now hide all of the scissors before the other kids try it 😮
Hi Jamie! Glad your channel is up and running.. You have beautiful kids, and they are so well behaved.. Thanks for sharing your life with all of us! You are doing awesome! love to all !
I thought you handled Lily's foray into hair styling so beautifully, and so did your mom and the real hairstylist, it takes a village, lol. Love the cut, reminds me of Violet's just a bit shorter. I wasn't allowed to have long hair growing up, it was kept in what they called a pixie. Enjoyed the vlog Jamie, you're doing great and I hope you feel better soon!
My niece cut my daughters hair when they were little it was right before school started. My neighbor told me to make her have her hair that way as a learning lesson. I couldn’t do that at all so she got a cute haircut like Lilly’s. Lilly looks so beautiful. You are such a amazing mom Jamie ❤
My daughter also cut her hair at that age - two days AFTER we had been to the salon. But she only cut the one little ponytail off so we were able to hide it just by changing how her hair was parted. She's now in her 20s and has never done it again. lol
No pictures but my son cut my daughter's hair when he was 6 and she was 4 years old. She had long blonde hair, just like Lily's. They cut it super short right before her dance recital! I was so sad but it looked okay in the end. Of course it grew out. Lily looks so cute with this style.
I was about her age when I did this. I cut it to the scalp in the front and my ponytail in back. I was in the kitchen and my mom asked from the living room “Jennifer what are you doing?” Me, “oh, nothing, just cutting my hair”. I don’t remember very much thought. My kids also did this to, luckily not as short as I did.
I love how proud she is of it. Haha. It’s just hair! It will always grow back. She still looks gorgeous and the fact that she’s thrilled with it, is what matters. Can’t understand why some parents lose their mind about it. It’s not the end of the world and shows initiative.
So happy to see this first vlog on your new channel!! I’ve been following your family since the babies were tiny! Love cute Lily‘s new haircut! My little sister, Debbie, did the same thing in kindergarten… including the really short “side bangs!” Lol! You handled it just beautifully!! Love you all so much!! 💞😘💖💙💙💗💙💗💙💗🥰
I am so happy that you will also being TH-cam, because I do not do Instagram. I don't have pictures, but I cut my own hair, and also a neighbor whose hair did not grow very fast. I felt so bad, that it cured me from cutting hair until I got older. When I got older, I cut my hair and it turned out okay, until it did not. I did a pretty good job many times, until another bad haircut, and that is when I stopped. LOL I used to practice on my dolls, also. Even if Lily does not become hairdresser, the interest is there.
I’m so glad I finally found your new channel! There are a lot of other Jamie Scott’s on TH-cam. 😁 When my daughter was six she decided she didn’t like the barrettes I had in her hair on the first day of school, and cut them out of her hair right before we had to leave; that was a fun day, lol. She never did it again though.
I cut my bangs in 7th grade thinking I could get them a little shorter - then they weren't even sooo tried to get them even - cutting even more off SOOOOO i basically cut them to like no bangs at all LOL had to wear a hat for a few weeks lol You, your family and hairdresser did a fantastic job!!!
found Mama YT channel finally, Love the Quints always ~ Lily is pretty little girl whatever hair style just suit her ; she looks cute with tooth missing even~
Jamie so good to see you again. I am also a big resder. Now that I am retired I have plenty of time to read. I also like to cook. I think most children will try to cut hair,if given the chance. Luckily hair grows back. Looking foward to seeing your next vlog. Thanks for the smiles. Long island Kathy
I only saw what you filmed, but I am so impressed with your approach. There was not anger, nor shaming, or even sadness at the loss of the hair that used to be there. I think the bob is absolutely adorable and just so impressed with the gentleness shown to im sure a very stressful situation.
Lily seems to love her new hair style. The hairdresser did a great job with Lily. I had long hair when I was in kindergarten . I can still remember sitting at the craft table and telling the kid's that I could cut my hair. And then I did. Fortunately, just the tip of my ponytail. It must be a thing for that age. Thank Goodness the hair grows back! 😊
I am a senior citizen, but I still remember cutting my hair when I was in the first grade. When I came home from school, I told my parents the teacher cut my hair. Had to fess up though when mom said she was going to talk to the teacher. 🤣
Love your channel, been following your lovely family for a couple of years now, all your children are adorable! My youngest son cut his fringe when he was 4 years old, quite a shock at the time! Best Wishes from the U.K. x
My 9 yr old had a handful of something and I said what’s in your hand and she said as proud as anything my Curls 😂 and I didn’t get a pic but oh my and now my 4 yr old cut a piece of hers but it blends in thank goodness but Lilys hair looks beautiful ❤
So excited about being able to watch both of your channels! I love Minky! I remember watching the quads from Utah years ago, they were always partnering with them!
Oh, yes...its a thing, especially with girls. My eldest and youngest daughters both cut their hair when they were 4 or 5. The middle daughter, however, who had beautiful long curly red hair almost down to her waist...SHAVED her head when she was 16 😢. I cried every time i looked at her for a week! She was my perfect child who was tired of being perfect😂. It COULD have been worse! Hair grows back!
My oldest, took scissors cut his little brothers curls! 4yrs and 2yrs 🫤 He had blond the color of your children, but curls. It bothered me, but he was so young he didn’t care😊.apparently it’s common, like coloring on the walls, some do, some don’t 🤷♀️
My daughter was bald for her first two years, she finally got enough hair for cute little pig tails at about 2 and a half. My son, five at the time got ahold of some clippers and shaved chunks out of her hair. I was so upset 😭. I wish i had shown the grace and patience you did. They are all grown now. Her hair grew back. 😊
Such a sweet vlog ❤ my cousin cut my hair to make bangs the weekend before school pics and that pic has haunted me ever since 😂 Lily turned out much more beautiful!!
Lily’s wide grin, big eyes and little burp when Jamie said she looked like the barbie from barbie movie was so perfect haha! I just love her
Lilly is so adorable with her new haircut. What a special gift you have with all your children. Sending love and hugs from Florida. Hope you feel better Jamie 💐
I agree

It must be a five year old thing!

Wow, Lilly’s hairstyle really suits her. I always believe that everything happens for a reason.
And what would this reason be?
hairdresser did a great job! Lily looks adorable
My sister sheared off her bangs across her forehead when she was Lily's age. My mom pulled out the old Super 8 and got some great footage of her dancing around with her new style. It's a precious memory now 😊
You handled this very well, and your hair dresser did a wonderful job. 😊
Man she did a great fix! Lily you look fantastic 😘🤗🙏🏻🫶🏼
Lily looks so darling with the new hairdo! My child never cut her hair but her mother did! 🙂

BEAUTIFUL hair I am so surprised at how nice the hairdersser was able to fix it!
Lily gave her an old fashioned "Shag" hair cut...almost😉😁😁 Rockin the 70's😂
I actually love Lily’s new hair cut.

So glad I found you, hope you enjoy your new vlogging home :) Lily's hair actually looks adorable. Cutting hair is pretty common at that age actually.

How cute, she has the same cut as grandma.
Aww Lily gave herself a 70's shag haircut lol. The hairdresser did a nice job finishing it up. Good to see you have your own channel.
I love her new short haircut.
