A hundred years from now the only movie from this episode of reviews that will be remembered and will still be beloved and viewed regularly will be “The Warriors”. This movie at least captures one’s imagination and is unlike anything seen before or since. Not exactly a retelling of Homers Odyssey but something akin to it with unforgettable characters and outrageous dialogue. Such as; “We’ve got the Moonrunners right next to the Van Courtland Rangers…and nobody is wasting nobody…Can you dig it!”
The warriors is a classic

I usually agree with Ebert, but he was way off-base with The Warriors. Time has revealed it to be a classic.
Hardcore was terrific until the end. Things are wrapped up too neatly and it's phony.
Totally agree.
