    Disappointed the sun was a no show this morning but not disappointed in the presentation . It was very nice to “see” Claire this year. Last year it was considerably colder and she was quite bundled up. Also fun to see the “participants” attending who were dancing parading drumming and chanting. Found that I was smiling throughout. Thank you Anthony for sharing the web site. Thank you OPW.

    Thankyou for this lovely presentation today from Alberta Canada. It brought me to a closer connection and interest in studying my own ancestry, archaeological wonders, mystical magic and the brilliance of the peoples of the past and those who study and work to carry it forward.

    The Irish heritage goes as far as to Ecuador, in the middle of the beautiful Blue Marble, from where I send wishes for a Happy December Solstice, rebirth of the Light and with it of Hope in a new cycle of life, to all those humans who read this message!

    I've been to Newgrange, it's an amazing place. Like all the other structures from this era, it enables you to get a deep sense of connection with our ancestors.
    A lovely video and I thought the presenters did a great job.

    Hello to everyone. In my younger years I was researching ancient Ireland and linguistics of same . I was allowed by the tour guide staff of Newgrange to give a mini Lecture on my own inside the chamber with a small group of tourist visitors from. around the world. I forget the leading tour guide , but the name of Peter Kelly keeps coming up in my mind . I have made massive leaps and bounds in my research and will now endeavour to complete and share it with those kind people ! The story of " Our Family ".

    Ireland must of been a different place back then. No way one of the first people who were smart enough to track the movement of time whould of built a monument relying on the sun in today’s climate .

    I need to know what is going on here. I honour the Ancestors and love them. I think this place was an inter-dimensional way of sending people physically or consciously or both between Newgrange and Mayshowe? I wonder if I would be allowed to experiment by having people honouring the Ancestors by having a human chain of people holding hands and touching at the points of the standing stone/megaliths and chained into the chamber to see what magick occurs right at the moment of the Solstice for the full 17 minutes with the first person's in the chain of possibly 17 people? too touch the back of the chamber or the point where the rod of light touches the chamber. I understand that the sun is no longer in its original position relative to our earthly position. Don't know if the Ancestors calculated for procession or not or even if that still matters? Or would the length of the light beam have been more or less than 17 minutes originally? Then we could calculate this and have the required amount of people to do this every year until we get the right combination of respectful people it takes to escape to where the Ancestors are now. Be blessed

    How long will the sun shine down the passageway, as there is natural phenomena like precession with the earth and isn't the moon moving away all the time!? 🎑🤔

    Very good !
    Only solstice fell on the 25th of Dec this year not the 21st like the Vatican would have you believe...
    Solstice is a natural event and its date falls the morning after the 4th day of the last full moon of the year , the ' winter moon ' or the
    ' dark moon ' !!
    Solstice can occur anytime betwean the 21st to the 3rd january ( why the Christians made 12 days of christmas , to overlap the pagen festival of solstice ) , it all depends on the last moon !!

    • @robertmorency6335
      @robertmorency6335 ปีที่แล้ว

      Solstice is from the 21st, when the Sun appears to stand still in the sky. It's actually Earth that is making the turn as its orbital path starts heading toward the North Pole (it will only reach 23.5 degrees North, when the orbital path again appears to stand still before the turn to the South becomes noticeable.) The 25th of December is when the Sun (or Son) is said to return, and thus marks the end of the period of the apparent "stopping" of the Sun. The starting up of the orbit was considered a huge event in the old days, assuring that crops will again be growable.

    • @jasonwoods3711
      @jasonwoods3711 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@robertmorency6335 yes I know what solstice is thankyou lol
      But natural occurrences are not set in stone so to speak, and as solstice is a natural occurrence... I say no more !
      We will have to agree to disagree on the dates ..

    Have to watch this with the sound down again this year, the running commentary so so tedious, unengaging, banal and pedestrian. If you have to do this at the OPW hire some of our most informed cultural experts and artists, rather than this uninspiring nonsense.
