Same here! Flying for first time alone in 9 days. This vid was a great anxiety reliever. I planned on relying on the DFW online map to navigate but the signs seem very helpful and easy to read! Thanks for the vid @Sherpa Traveler !

I'm glad you found the video helpful and that it helped alleviate some of your anxiety about flying alone. It's always a good idea to gather information and resources to make your journey smoother. American Airlines app also has a DFW airport map, and it's easy to use. Wishing you a safe and pleasant flight! Have a fantastic trip! ✈️🌍

once i find my gate, do i just sit down and wait or do i go to the front desk to confirm im there/at the right gate

Hi, you can always confirm with the gate agent that you are at the right gate for your flight. Also, the monitors in front of the gate will show the flight number, destination, and flight time which should match your itinerary. Happy travels!

@@SherpaTraveler thanks sm, I'm taking a flight via American Airlines, with a 1 hour and 17 minute layover in dallas for a connecting flight. The connecting flight is also American Airlines. Should I have enough time to reach my gate? And do you have any idea if I'll land in the same terminal that my connecting flight will be since they are both the same airline? Sorry for the questions lol just rlly anxious

If both flights are domestic flights, then it should be enough time to transfer even if the terminals are different. American uses all terminals in DFW, and you will have a better idea of the terminals on the day of your flight. If you have to transfer terminals, follow the Skylink sign and the terminal you need to go to. Skylink stops twice in each terminal, so look for a stop closest to your gate. Also, you can use the American Airlines app or website to get the latest status of your connecting flight.

I also have a question. I have a connecting flight here do i still need to collect my check in baggage (Japan Airlines and American Airlines).

Hi, thank you for the question. I have yet to have a transfer at DFW as it is my departure or arrival airport. But from my experience with international transfer in multiple international airports in the US, you will likely have to collect your baggage and recheck it for a continuing flight. The customer service rep who checks in your luggage for your first flight will have the most accurate answer. Happy Travels!

i have a layover here/connecting flight here in DFW do i still need to go in immigration?

If your final destination is in the US and you arrive from an international destination in DFW airport, you will have to pass through immigration at DFW. Happy Travels!

    Hi
I have 1h connexion between internation terminal and national terminal.
Do you think i have the time?

Hi, it will depend on the time it will take for immigration which could vary. For transfer only, 1 hour should be sufficient if you don't need additional services such as a wheelchair. I hope this helps. Happy Travels!
