Yea, she planted the Chucky doll, hence why the woman running the yard sale didn't know where it came from; just assuming it was her daughter's doll.

Fun fact: In the Chucky script, Chucky caused a fire at the woman’s house, who then decided to get rid of him because she sensed some sort of odd synchronization between chucky and the fire.

The doll looks so good definitely an improvement from cult of Chucky design they really tried to make it look like the doll from child's play 2 which is the what this new doll is based off
