      @@Lonewolfwildcamping thanks for your response again proving you are the guy my said you are humble, nice and down to earth. Hey why don't you do a survival type video/ bushcraft and hunt for your food type video in the winter time I think that would be outstanding putting your own spin on things. Others have done these type of videos but you can put your own style and experience to it. Would love to see it in the fall. Let me know if you will do it. Thanks again and God bless you and your family.

    Just got back from a week long camping and hiking trip. I deployed this channel's suggestion to sandwich the inflatable air pad between the thin foam pad (wet cold ground) and the primary sleeping pad, which was a self inflation air/foam hybrid.
    It's more gear than I would prefer, but it absolutely preserves body heat and was a very comfortable way to sleep on the ground.
    Thank you !

    Looks good... my only issue with amazon cheaper pads is they never last over 3 years... but maybe I'll give one another shot... when you add up how fast they go bad, then it truly isn't worth it. My favorite pad lasted 27 years.... it was "The Equalizer" and had 4 separated air pockets with all different sections for your back that you could raise or lower for comfort. It was an AMAZING pad.... if i ever found one again similar, I'd buy it again. For us guys with back problems it was a god send. it had non slip material on the top and a nearly rubberized style material on the bottom so you KNEW an odd sharp rock wasn't going to harm it at all. It lasting 27 years was evidence. It wasn't that expensive either, considering the value I received form it. But I'm always willing to try new things, now that it finally took a dump..... I have the Tensor currently and the Lightspeed Outdoors R9.4 rated winter pad, which is good for winter for sure, I can't believe how much heat it reflects back at me....Looking forward to seeing what the tarp is like. Probably sticking with AquaQuest tho likely, as they have a special place in my heart for sure....

    After spending 2 days researching sleep mats today I decided buy the the UL 140 but was disappointed to find that they have gone out of stock, as I felt like I'd wasted 2 days of my life, but I came across this one on amazon and after reading the reviews and then coming on to you tube to see your review I actually think this may be the better option of the 2, and for 50 English pounds it's a real steal and will be great for my wild camps....

I took my hot tent ....and stove but, did not need the stove. Very well built and the materials are top quality. It weighs more than my hammock, tree straps, and my three season hammock specific down sleeping bag, but not everyone wants to sleep in the air. Some people actually like sleeping on hard, lumpy dirt and cleaning mud and debris from their tents after a rain 😁. I only use a tent in the winter. When a closed cell foam pad works for insulation, and the snow conforms to my body.
    It's a very nicely built product, though. Thanks!

    How important are r-values on camping pads? From what I've seen, r-value of 2 is rated around 30°F? Does that mean it's comfortable at 30°F? Also, is that the cut off temp, or can it be used in colder weather?

    It's definetly different pattern from most chinese products. but 960g is a bit too much for 80$

      I find the weight add to the durability, but distance of hiking is definitely taken into consideration

    to bad it has the stupid valve you have to hold down to let air out instead of a double, I use my mini pump to suck all the air out, can't do it with this. Shoving a stick in there will wreck it eventually.

    Is better for my haven xl tent to original? Regular or large?

    • @Lonewolfwildcamping
      @Lonewolfwildcamping  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The haven requires a rectangular pad, this one is not the correct shape

    I bought one of these, but I woke up to a half-deflated pad the next morning. This was indoors (as a test night). Anyone else have this happen?
