  • I'm here to tell you that you don't need to leave your cornrows in for that long before seeing that new growth. Guys...listen...3 weeks to one month is enough to get new growth with your cornrows if you know what you're doing.

Hi there! ☺️ Hope all is going well. What did you conclude about keeping in twists this last go around? Do you prefer them over plaits, or does carrying plaits win?

Very fine, thanks so much 🥰 Oh yes, after my last mini twists challenge, I installed mini braids, and I have stuck them ever since, even currently. I still wear twists (in-between losing my style and wash day) before my next install. Honestly, plaits win for me, not because I'm unable to retain length with twists, but plaits manage my shed hair much better than twists, which increases my length retention results. Plaits have also been convenient for my schedule these past weeks, but that could still change in the future.

Oh ok ☺️ Plaits are definitely great for keeping moisture and shed hair in place. I’ve been in plaits for six months and thought I would give twists a try! Thanks for responding! 🌺

Yes you can use honey, but I recommend using it with a carrier oil like olive oil to make it easy to wash out. Just to keep that stickiness under control 🥰

pls recommend some leave in with excellent slip

Sure! I've used some in the past but I haven't had any positive experiences until using mega growth leave-in strengthener. I noticed it contains at least 2 emollients (aloe extract & glycerin). I've heard good things about Auntie Jackie's curl milk, and Shea moisture for type 4 hair, but I haven't used either of them.
I'll tell you to just make sure your leave-in has at least 2 emollients in its ingredients and you can be sure to get enough slip (slippery but thick consistency).
